Planning a future build and I think this tire size is on the list. What are some alignment goals I should give to shop? 0 camber 0 tow +3-4 caster? looking at bp-51 suspension with possibly a 1/2" spacer on front. Wheels I like are the TRD Pro 4runner t4r I believe 17x7 wheel. would the FN wheels at 17x8 be a better option with this tire? Loving all these pics of these trucks.

From my experience so far, it just depends on how your truck will end up with everything. I think you’re on the right path. I’m sitting at 4.7/4.9 caster, 17x9 -38 offset wheel and 3 inch lift up front. I’m still rubbing my cabmount after an aggressive chop. Wheel/tire choice will be your biggest factor from what I’ve seen. Nitto Ridge Grapplers are true to size, BFGs run a bit on the smaller side. A 17x8.5 -12 offset will clear better than my wheel selection. Just be ready to make it work. I love how mine have ended up and catch myself looking at it all day if I could.

From my experience, just achieving positive caster won't get you what you want. What you need to have them do is to use the eccentrics on the LCAs to push the wheel as far forward as it will go, then compensate for that with a UCA that gives you more positive caster than you can get with a stock UCA. Running additional positive caster is helpful in general for handling, but what you really need to do is push the wheel away from the firewall which is only achieved using the LCAs.

I’ve been think about that as well, I need to find a shop that deals with Toyota’s more or larger tires in general. I’m gonna go flex it out one of these weekends and check where else I’ll need to clearance and start checking out other alignment shops.

hey I'm new to this stuff but I'm wondering is there a specific wheel offset that I would need to fit some 285/75s on there. I'm stock right now but am going to order an ome bp-50 kit and havnt decided on what wheels or tires.

    I feel you'd need a regear.

I already feel I need it with 285 70 17 with all the extra weight.

I put my first tank through it this week. Driving in S5 I was able to squeeze 16.1 mpg out of it after adjusting for tire size. Keeping the speedo at about 65, which according to gps is about 70. I’m not driving it like a sport car but I still have plenty of get up and go to pass. Would a regear help, absolutely. 6th gear is out of the question. That’s OD gear does not like the new tires for sure.

Just a question.. what UCAs do you have?? 295/70/17 -38 (which are just as hard to clear if not worse) and they rubbed everything everywhere until i got it properly aligned.. remember caster is only the relation between upper and lower ball joints don’t just look for numbers.. if you have SPC uppers make sure both LCA eccentrics are maxed out (forward). This should help to solve some of the rubbing issues you may have.. everything else will have to be cut!!

This is how mine looked the day i drove it home from the 1st alignment shop (they had no idea what they were doing) 32BDB960-3172-435A-A7E4-7563739E0225.jpg

After proper alignment and some minor trimming FA14AF2F-88F8-44E5-A9F0-D48A7C41EFFC.jpgno more rub..

    Good luck

It also depends how heavy you are. I had the same 285 70 17 last year with no issues and since I put the bumper on its worse. Added at least 250lbs and it's constantly down shifting

looks good, are those oem trd wheels or Fn fx pro's? with the ST Maxx tire did you have to trim around the fender wells at all or just in the corner?

Right on. I was thinking of trying 295s in the future. But I have Dobinson’s UCAs that have a built in 3* of caster. I’ll check to see if another shop can work the LCAs a little bit. I’m sure if I do move it forward, I’ll have trim more front bumper.

I had the TSB done so it does t shift down as much. But I’m sure once I start bolting up more armor I’m definitely regearing.

Yes they are OEM TRD wheels. I did trim fender plastic front and back and had a CMC and pinch weld hammered down.

    Like, so many.
They are. I went with the 0 offset and it pushes the tires just outside the fenders. It’s a good stance.
