yeah, I know. But you could get a bug up your rear, and HAVE to go! Was telling my wife about son's day trip to the mall elevators and escalators. Hilarious!

Well, you probably need to find a good Sprint Car or Dirt Modified shop, and ask them who might know about Tacomas. Now, it's not a Murican truck, but built in Texas (no one knows the dates), and you ARE military. You find good racers, they will know who.

The ones I found for trucks didn't have a website, so I just dumped it.
PROLLY - best bet is a TW Overland group in the mid-west. Now, I grew up in Michigan, so remember I could drive to Iowa in less time than it would take me to get to El Paso! State lines are SO close!

I don't think I will like it here that much. I have already been told I need to flush my radiator and fill it back up with some special coolant for winter, get a different battery, and try to rust proof the truck

How cold does it get? Maybe some heated seats & a block heater could be in the cards too.

Ziebart! Never mind - google it. There IS something that everyone sprays on the undercarriage every year in climates with cold and road treatments. I can't remember the name, but it's common on TW. And YES, you will have to treat the radiator and windshield washer for cooler climes, but that is cheap, and can be done in the fall. A deep cycle battery is also common, because you WILL be below zero. Somone will no doubt try to sell you a dipstick heater, but you are NOT in Alaska. Never used one, and I grew up in Michigan.
But just think, how much less you will use the AC!

It's Iowa, Eddy, so it's just like being up North, except for all the surrounding states are flat as a pancake, so there is nothing in the way of anything that blows through. If it's 0*F, and it will be, it will be 0*F with a wind chill.
    Sorry Roger!
You know that undercarriage spray I'm talking about?

Ouch! Right now I'm watching the sweat run down the outside of the front window. Double pane glass Anderson windows. The humidity is still like 76%. Gross.

I like the weather station. What model accurite is that? I need another one. Mine is not working right anymore.

We will have to convince him to get some ramps, and run a snowmobile up into the bed! You will love that @Rogelio22 ! Course many can be found with a trailer.
Winter is not bad. Shoveling it is! When you land, get a cheap snowblower!

I forget, and I will look it up. They have threatened for two years that the "replacement" is on the way and better. It's the most reliable of the cheaper models, but you can ignore that "rain" forecast in the picture!

OK, @RobP62 , this is the current version of the station I have:
    https://www.amazon.com/AcuRite-Wire...eway&sprefix=accurite+weather+,aps,287&sr=8-3
There is a "Pro" version I would look at if buying a new one. Whatever you do, the "forecasting" is likely to be for shit. Always has been, but the gauges are accurate for the price, and better than the completion for the price.
The NEW station that they have threatened for two years is the "Atlas" version. I know nothing about this, so research it if interested. There is an ACCURITE users group on FB, and they complain a LOT - I quit following them!

Getting late, so overnight vote for people planning to C&C on Sunday. It will be hot as asphalt, so I am putting forth that the thing to do is bring something READY TO SHARE if so inclined, and not make someone cook, or by raw foods. Bring something to share if you want, beverage and water, SHADE if you got it.
The overnight and early morning crew responses will tell the tale. Going to be hot, let's just have fun.
I'll look for responses tomorrow in time to let folks know!
    Signed, unofficial food coordinator.
