Blind spot monitor delete for 2019?

i want a steel rear bumper and am finding that nobody supports the BSM. is there a delete? If removed will it cause issues?

It probably won’t cause “issues” other than a “service driver assist” or similar message on the dash.

The BSM is mounted behind the plastic bumper covers on the corners. You’re talking about the backup sensors. 2 different things.

These guys make a bumper compatible with bsm and the other sensors, although they do have a disclaimer.

No issues. I have a 2017 with BSM. I got a steel bumper so I removed the BSM sensors and just taped the connector end on the harness and tie strapped it out of the way. I also removed my BSM push button and created an extra slot for my lights. As long as you don’t try to turn on BSM without the sensors plugged in you will not get any warning lights on the dash.

 

This likely won't work, although I am not sure why. I broke the side of my factory bumper, and had to pull out the sensor. I ended up re-installing the sensor without the bumper, and initially it worked, but not for long. The message on the display is that "BSM is not operational" or something to that effect. 2016 has a button with which the sensor can be turned on/off, so for now I am just keeping it off.
