I don't know man. I can see a jolly chap with a mess a pheasants in the trunk after a successful hunt. Bird hunting is a flatland sport, and with the soft top, you're driving around in a mobile blind.

I think we've actually stumbled upon the perfect bird hunting rig

 

2.7 F150 and 3.5 Tacoma. Or at least rhat is what the internet says..

 

I am sure it is the case, but the feel of the Ford is way more appealing. It’s not at all the same torque curve. Also, it is impressive that the full size is getting up to speed just slightly quicker than little Tacoma.

The torque curve on the boosted ford is a “right fuckin now” type of pedal feel, but then maybe it peters out? I don’t notice that, but maybe.

As we all know the Tacoma is a “I’ll get around to it someday” kind of acceleration.

Every tap of the pedal on the F150 EB pushes you back in the seat, which is a joy.

 

Same with the Tundra. If you turn traction control all the way off be prepared to clean the rubber off the bottom of the beds cause it will smoke the tires fo awhile. Did you know the fastest production truck ever made was a 2007 Tundra 5.7 with the TRD supercharger? 0-60 in 4 seconds flat...

It's pretty impressive when you stomp it off the line lol. I pulled a 5200 lb trailer 400 miles a few weeks ago and it was great. This truck was built to pull that weight. Here's one... i drove south and back last week, right at 500 miles total, 99% interstate and I averaged 18.4 mpg lol.

Something tells me you won’t get that when you supercharge it.

 

Not going to happen. I realize that a vehicle is at it's most reliable and durable when it is completely stock out of the box. It will stay that way.

 

OP, I've got a 2017 3G 6MT Access Cab Offroad that i'm considering selling.

It'd be a Unicorn in the US - can't buy 'em there and you'd have to import it.

And its not even THAT far from you... Southeast corner of BC. I could even find a way to meet you partway!

Another thing I miss about my Tundra when I used to drive like my ass was on fire. I read somewhere that it could take a certain model year Ferrari off the line. I believe it. That thing was a rocket on wheels. Beautiful and very powerful truck.

People bitch about it being outdated? I think that’s the younger guys who want all sorts of tech. For a fifty-something like me, it was plenty techie enough. The only reason I went with the Taco over the Tundra was the slightly better gas mileage. And I really didn’t need all that power anymore anyway since I no longer tow anything.

It’s actually made me a better driver since I’ve learned to take my time now.

 

It would look good with a "mess of pheasants," but you probably have never hunted Chukars if you think bird hunting is a "flatland sport."
