I’ve currently got a 5100 front and back and OME 885 lift. I’ve got a 1.5” block on the rear. I’m getting a pretty rough vibration and suspect it’s from the blocks. What’s a good set of leaf springs that doesn’t break the bank and works well for the avg daily driver with just minor off roading. I’d like to keep the rear lift similar to what it currently is with the blocks, if that’s possible.

OME Dakars 95R (medium). Stock it will put 2.75” lift on the rear. You can pull a leaf and lower that by about ~ 1/3 inch. Will run $500-$600 new uninstalled. You can do better if you don’t mind previously owned.

    OME 95R full leaf pack.

I bought a set of low mile 3rd gen takeoffs and an AAL. Should result in the same lift as what the blocks provide. I’ll post picks once I install them. Gotta do some work on the wife’s car first.

Your vibration is from the change in driveshaft angles from being lifted, not from the blocks specifically. It will still be there with new springs. The truck can’t tell the difference. If you were only having wheel hop under hard acceleration from a stop, that’s a symptom of blocks that springs would correct. But I’m guessing you're getting general vibrations that correcting your driveline angles will fix for you.

This true for any size lift? Only went 2.5” or so with the 5100 on 0. The fix for it?

i've got the 90-297HD (3+1) from general spring, they give about 1.5". Had them about 20k miles, been pleased with them

paired with 6112's set at #3 up front, which gives about 1.6". So kept factory rake doing both

Yes. Doesn't matter what you did in the front, it's the 1.5" lift in the rear that changed your drive line angles and is causing your vibrations. Try unbolting your carrier bearing and adding a washer on each bolt between the bearing and frame. This will lower it a little. Go for a drive. Better? Then you're all done. A little better but not fixed? Unbolt again and add a second washer and repeat. A little trial and error until you find the sweet spot or get it to where it's barely noticeable. Good luck.

Possibly would correct axle wrap is one of the downsides to leaf spring suspension and blocks just tend to make it worse.

To explain the vibration better, it happens around 40-60mph and I feel it in from the rear in the drivers seat and it shakes the steering wheel some.

Does it happen at low rpm under load? Might be the Torque Converter not fully locking up. That’s common on our trucks too.

Not under load but yes at low rpms I have what feels like it but also what feels like a “mist” or something similar. This has always been there but only at low rpms and small gradual inclines. It’s only amplified now with the lift. I figured it was the throttle body needing clean or something

Would a front diff drop assist in correcting the angle? Seen some posts about a carrier bearing drop? It’s starting to feel like it’s somewhere in the driveline and not the leafs/block area.

Sounds to me like it’s the old torque converter lock up issue. There’s a bunch of threads about it on here already. Might be worth a search to get more information.

Dont think its your problem- but see my link if you want ideas on how to do your own AAL on the cheap- I have over 60K on the lift and all sorts of shenanigans.
