Will you be coming up by holly springs general store at hwy 11 and 178?

 

I can come up that way if that’s more convenient for you I usually go up 183 and take shady grove RD up to 11 and as far as what time it doesn’t matter to me

 

Heck, I didn't notice you're in easley too.
How bout meeting at QT at 9am?

 

I may take the Toyota since it's going to be dry. I'll double check the winch in the morning. I'll probably just decide tomorrow.

Man I wish I lived a little closer. I'm in Rock Hill South of Charlotte.

Who was off the main trail down here and found the lake. We found a spur off the mainline, off to the left and now we found another spur and kinda a loop.

That looks like the spot you would go right to get to the lake

 

Awesome!! I need to see if I can find a map off all the trails out there. I have really only gone to the bridge and then the spur to the lake. Have not found a loop yet

Is that up by where the mountain top is before you can turn right down towards the lake?

 

I don't think so. You go left there to go down to the lake. Our mission was to take the trail that you and the other 2 people went to the lake access.

We found the spur on the left, took it and further in down there were a couple other spurs on the left. We passed them and continued down to a fork.

Went right and followed it. Then ended up at the pic previously posted. Took the left side which was pretty gnar in some spots. Rocky.

Finally ended up at the lake.
Someone was camped there but there were no vehicles so they probably came in by boat.

Had a hell of a time trying to turn around.

That's a gnarly spur.
I really want to do that again with my prerunner and was hoping someone would tag along in case I get into trouble.

I think it might do well. 70/30% I think I can get down and back.
