I hope he does! And I hope he helps us get out of the apartment more often!

fabricated and installed fishing rod holders. Works fine for short rods and take-downs. Longer rods won't fit unless you leave the tail gate down. I may take them off and round the corners and paint. We'll see how ambitious I feel.

What if you flip them 180 degrees for longer rods?

I guess you could put a longer rod in the lower slot up front and the tip in the upper slot in the back which would allow the longer rod to rise above the tail gate and stick up and out a foot or so. But that would use up all three positions. I do most of my lake fishing with that short rod and have a few take downs that will work in there. Not perfect but something better than flopping around in the bed.

I'm saying to flip the brackets upside down. So the brackets go above the bed rather than down into it. Fishing rods aren't heavy so they should hold them fine.

    Installed Escort Radar hardwire kit:
    https://www.amazon.com/Escort-Direct-Power-Radar-Detectors/dp/B0003NN83U

Popped open top panel, found the ECU harness.
Wires 1 and 12 are IGN 12V and Ground.
    popped panel out.jpg ecu harness.jpg

Now I have my 9500ix mounted slightly above the right of the rearview, not hanging down and blocking sightline to the road. quite nice.

    Cheers--

Did the remote start as well. The one thing i hate though is that the car shuts off as soon as you open the door. I called fortis in Canada as well as other alarm install shops in the area and the both said that nothing has been developed yet that keeps the vehicle on when the doors are open. I even went as far as going to the lexus dealer and apparently all toyota and lexus vehicles with the new toyota safety sence shit the vehicle off when the doors open.

I like the decals. Does anyone have the heritage decals on the side of the truck? Would love to see what that looks like on a white taco?

Didn’t see the side decals on TVD website, anyone know where to purchase them?

That might work for short low speed trips. I wouldn't feel comfortable doing 70 for a couple of hours with them sticking up. I need to ponder some sort of tube to put on the other side that would angle up and allow for longer rods.

    Looks good.
If you don't want to go through the hassle of rounding the corners you could always just chamfer them. Just an idea.
