Any ideas on where I can get a new seat cover or even seat for my 1996 4x4?
Toyota calls the color "Oak". Seat's in great shape except for the DS bolster. Tried ordering from Toyota but it's obsolete. Anyone who specializes selling obsolete Toyota parts who may have one?

I have a 2018 SBDC Sport 4x4 but want to fix this old one up a bit even though it's in great shape for being 22 years old and having 412,000 miles on it.
Thanks in advance for your help.

car-part.com is a great place to look for used parts. I've also noticed there are quite a few tacomas being parted out in VA on ebay. You could contact the ebay seller maybe set up a local pick up? I personally would swap the bench for buckets from either 96-04 tacomas or 96-01 4runners (will require little modding). Your truck looks great btw!

Call Wetokole and see if they make a seat cover for that model. Website seems to think so, but I couldn't find any pictures on their site of that example. Would look brand new once installed.

An upholstery shop can make it as new, for less than most think.

X2 on Upholstery shop. Take the seats out yourself and take it to them. They can even supply some extra material if it doesn't match exactly so you can wrap other things...like the door panel. But then you are getting in to a project.

Or buy some low mileage ones from a wrecked truck. Just remember the NEWEST 1st gen tacoma is a 2004...about to be 15 years old.

I've been searching for a used/salvage seat and have even found a couple of same type and color however are in worst condition than mine.
    Thanks!

And thanks for the complement, I've tried to keep it nice over it's 22 years.

Yep, a good upholstery shop could make me seat covers, however I want to keep my '96 as original as possible and I doubt they would be able to find the material/fabric for a OEM like seat cover. Currently, the Tacoma is just how Toyota built it so originality is important to me.
I was thinking a Toyota restoration shop may have a source for the material. Thanks for the Help, I really appreciate it. If anyone has any other ideas, please let me know.

Wet Okoles would look pretty fresh. If not, then I’d bet that an upholstery shop could probably doctor that up, seeing how it’s along the piping.

It will work on a temporary basics to help protect what's left of existing covers until I can find an OEM solution.
Thanks for the info. Still have to believe these's new original OEM seatcovers left in some dealer's parts room somewhere. I just have to find and pay for them.

I believe these to be the Toyota Part#s
    seat back cover > 71073-04060-EO
    seat bottom cover > 71071-04050-EO

Of course, as I stated in an earlier post, I'd be willing to buy complete used seat if I can find one in very good condition.
I do realize which ever way I go, isn't going to cheap.

Yep, Wet Okoles could make me something that would look ok, however I'm just hung up on the "keeping it original" thing.

I'm going to take it to a good upholstery shop to seek info on repairing, however there's material missing so don't see how it could be repaired without new material.

Ah gotcha. Props on keeping it original. It looks awesome. I can see it being used in a movie somewhere down the road... Something like that 1970 Oldsmobile 442 in Demolition Man.

Edit: FYI, those part numbers end in 0, not O.
Edit 2: removed Amazon listing list I posted, didn't even notice it wasn't the right part number... Reading is hard...

    Everything but the driveshaft. B03A - 410
I had an upholster rebuild a Honda seat back in 2009. They used the exact fabric. Back then they had big swatch catalogs of every car manufacturer and fabric going back to the 1970s. It should be doable. It will cost some money for a custom job.

Thank you as going to the upholstery shop was my next step, however I had no idea they could get factory fabric. $$ isn't really an issue. Thanks again.

@OP: I have the same agenda as you to find original factory fabric for my oak 60/40 drivers seat, have the seat repaired using original fabric, and having it look factory original. The best reference is the Detroit book which is a reference book of auto fabrics. You'll need to ask if your upholstery shop has a Detroit book in their shop, the Detroit book has to be the same year/make/model, has the correct reference for your vehicle, and track down the fabric.

Finding the fabric online or through phone calls isn't easy. There are a number of online shops that have warehouses full of auto fabrics that were purchased when other fabric shops sold their inventory. I went through this dilemma a few months ago, trying to track down original factory fabric in oak for my 1999 Tacoma. I've contacted Keyston Brothers in San Diego and was unsuccessful in my attempt. I'm going to try again as it would be nice to walk into the upholstery shop, provide the material yourself, and have the shop do the labor & repairs. Let me know if you find anything in your search as I'm looking for the oak auto upholstery fabric for my truck as well.

I found this reference a few months back that gave me a clue as to what type of auto fabric the Tacoma trucks came with stock:
    https://www.miamicorp.com/default.aspx?file=customer/micorp2/customerpages/original.htm&Page=customer

Look at pages 23 & 24 for the Toyota fabrics.

The other alternative as posted by one of the other forum members is to locate a wrecked Tacoma with the same seats as yours on either Craig's List or a junkyard and buy the seats. Unfortunately, you'll be stuck with a OEM seat with a ripped seat covers unless you sell it.

Thanks very much. I've been searching the wrecking yards but everything I find is in much worst condition than what I have.
