Curious on this one myself, wasn't aware of this option. That would be great though.

As fast as Mercedes depreciate, that Mercedes probably has only 20% of its value left, they are not what people think they are. Surprised they didn't take you multi tool instead.

That sucks, thankfully it's undamaged and they didn't try to steal it like your neighbors Benz. It's happened twice that I could have sworn I locked it only to come to the truck the next morning and the door is unlocked... I double triple check from now on.

Only grabbing spare change, is more than likely kids, or small timers, which would lead me to believe, that's there's a very good chance you didn't lock up.

Unfortunately, my truck and wife's care have been broken into a few times. Best deterrents are to leave nothing in your car, especially visible. With my old jeep, i left the doors unlocked and only locked the glovebox with dmv and insurance paperwork. Glass breakage sensors are a godsend and as well as a good surveillance camera. Costco runs great deals on security cameras all the time. We also have motion lights in our driveway that are crazy bright. Sorry this happened to you, I feel the pain.

Mine will auto lock only if I have unlocked it and not opened a door.

This was actually a cheap lesson for me. I’m happy they didn’t f up my truck. I need to be more security conscious.

Just installed a dash cam. While parked It has an OPTIONAL LED blinking light to draw attention to a thief he’s being recorded. The flip side is it may draw the attention to the thief that something valuable in truck. Opinions on running dash cam parked with or without blinking light.
    Thoughts ?

It's just an advertisement for a free dash cam in my opinion.

If that’s the case, then if the vehicle is equipped with a push to start they should be able to drive away

It takes actual work to drive a stick. Most of them are allergic to work.

    Funny thief story.

Thieves checking locks get into my unlocked truck. Hunting season so I had a handheld GPS in the ransacked console. My sister in law 's boss lived at the end of our street and mentions to her he found a GPS in his yard the next day. I walk down to his house, point to the picture on the box in my hand and ask, "Find one of these?" He disappears for a minute and comes back to the door and hands me my gps.

Only the trucks with touch to start have this feature - so none of the MTs. FWIW, if equipped, you can disable / enable this feature using the factory radio.
