All done. Took a little bit for fitment. It is very heavy, and seems very sturdy. The passenger side rail (front) is still a little wonky. Not sure why the front fits closer to the cab than the driver. I put some washers underneath, perhaps I should have put one more. Either way, I put that rubber guard stuff on the wind fairing and the ends of the rails. I also have the rear of the rails in the low holes, and the front in the top holes. This helped out a bit.

I was getting some wicked vibrating when I braked....Everything was tight, but the wind fairing was vibrating on the cab...so I just tightened it down so that it is pressed on the cab...no more vibrating.

I'll be putting my Pelican type cases up on top. Drill the holes in the cases and bolt them to the cross bars. Should be nice and sturdy.

I do wish they had T-Slides, but for the price I don't think you can beat this.

Side note..I may take it to a buddy of mine to cut the bottom of the wind fairing. I don't like that little design they have. I'll have that cut out...sand it down and paint it.

In prototype phase for me right now
Bought a second with out numbers and cut up the one I had with numbers.
Going to try and use some jb weld and cover up the holes and paint over it. U can see I tryed some epoxy and painted came out ok but the jb weld going to do the trick

As for the front touching you need to adjust all for mounting location and lift the front and lower the back some.

The only issues I see painting the bolts would be the paint wearing off. I looked on Amazon for black stainless bolts and they way to pricy.

As for the weather stripping there is a metal strip in the center and it was hard to drill through. I do like the one the other members on here trimmed and installed.
I cut mine but I made sure to use some black silcone to keep where I cut to stay down

As for a RTT I have a Roam Vegabound V2 and the rack hold it very well.

What did you use to cut? Will a grinding wheel work for something like that?

I cut it on a miter saw, the metal is so thin that the blade goes right through it. A better idea might be to use a sharp knife cut all the rubber around the very thin piece of metal and then just spin them until it breaks.

    Both for the second rack
First I use air grinder than found out the the jig saw with a metal cutting blade did much better

I used a razor blade to cut the weather strip

Nice clean edge with the miter saw.

I have thought of buying 2 set of T-slides rails just so I can mount my RTT on that

How are the ends of the T-slides? Meaning how would you bolt them to the rails?

From what I see is they have a threaded end but the Hooke road rails are slightly tapered

Question is how is everyone mounting their wind fairing? Do you have bolt it down to the cab to not have vibration or leave a gap ?

Mine is tight to the cab. If not, horrible vibration. Use the rubber edging you get from an Auto Zone or something...works well. Solid roof rack, IMHO.

Having lived with it for a little now the only complaint i have is that its a little loud. All things considered it seems incredibly solid and i have no worries of putting just about anything up there. Looks dope too.New Bitmap Image.jpg
