Hi Everyone, so I installed a K&N Blackhawk (oil less) intake about two months ago and i have not had any issues with it however yesterday I cleaned out the filter for the first time and reinstalled the filter into the intake and my truck started stalling Shortly after starting the truck. I inspected to make sure everything was connected and everything was connected properly however After 3 times of stallings I gave up and switched back to the OEM intake and it started with no problems. Has anyone had this issue with the K&N intake ???

Did you let the filter dry out after you cleaned it?

Yes about 18 hours I let it air dry before I reinstalled

It honestly sounds like something was not connected properly (though I know you clearly said it was)

Moisture from the filter throwing off your MAF sensor...the engine is a giant air pump lot of suction there.

If you decide to stick with K&N, go get a can of MAF sensor cleaner and familiarize yourself with the cleaning process. Not worth the trouble IMO.

You may want to reinstall everything once again to make sure all hoses were snug and clamps were tight.

That said, k&n is garbage. Stick to stock.

It was not possible to clean the K&N air filter without throwing a MAF code on my old WRX. I will say just using a tiny bit of alcohol and shaking the sensor in a ziplock bag was enough to get it clear but it was a pain in the ass. MAF sensors are very sensitive.
