You'll be good with your wheels.

When are you going in for new rubber? I'm between ko2 and at3 xlt's. I like the way my ko2's have handled everything. Super tough, no flats, paced them through a lot of crap. Worried the at3's will not hold up to the abuse as well and I'm hearing they hold on to stones.

Not sure. I'm in the in between point of running another year on my ST Maxx's or switching now and recouping more money out of them.

I think the KO2's are a great tire and a good way to go. I hear you on the 17's. I've definitely considered selling my Ray 10's and getting 17's just for the sake of finding tires. But mo rubber be mo better too...

I'm considering too but I heard some bad reviews on some snow/ice conditions. That's left a bad taste for the RG's. Ko2's have been so good in snow for me and lots of folks in Tahoe run them. The st maxx are probably the best though in those conditions. You don't like the road manners though?

My ST Maxx felt the same as the RG in snow and ice, both were good enough. No non-studded tire will perform well in ice, even with sipes.

The RG is noticably quieter than the Maxx's, also the Maxx's felt like they had a bit less traction on the highway when driving through the mountains. I took them from Redding to Mendo on HWY 20 and had to slow down a bit since they felt quite floaty. My Falken At3w were a little floaty too, but the RGs have been solid.

The only reason I'll choose something over the RGs will be it the 295s are very heavy or very expensive. If they are my next choice would be the AT3Ws. The Maxx was a great tire, but the sound and highway performance at 10k miles was not the best. I wouldn't recommend the K02s at all.

Interesting. It's so subjective to the reviewers experience. I wonder how much is related to varying tire pressures.

I have a mixed experience with the ST Maxx's. They are definitely on the loud side, but they are more of a hybrid A/T and M/T so it's to be expected. I have heard they get very loud the more they wear too.

My biggest gripe with them is that they pull right. It's a known issue with them. The only way I've been able to remedy it is by adding in about 2 degrees of cross caster (passenger side more + than driver).

Snow performance with them is good. I don't do a ton of snow driving but enough for me to want a tire that does well in it.

I had Terra Grapplers on my old 4Runner and really liked them. I wasn't doing a bunch of off-roading, but they were a really good tire. I've heard good things about the RG so I'd be willing to try them out. But you just can't go wrong with the KO2 :D

Yeah they will no doubt be heavy. One of the selling points for the Cooper AT3 XLT's is that they are relatively light weight.
