I love 243s. It's what I shot my first and last gun hunting deer with. And a bunch of coyotes.
Very kid friendly and all around great guns.

Love my .243's. Here's a 100 yard group from last year. Group 1 was cold bore. Shooting Federal 100gr Premiums.

Thats my #1 Go to gun! but might be a little too much for a 13yr old girl that weighs maybe 60lbs, we dont want to scare/hurt her right off the bat;)

well, we can only use crossbow with any weapon season so no advantage to early season unless she uses compound bow but Shes not strong enough for compound bow yet. has to be 40lb minimum draw.

Not really disturbing the flow of water but this is an 85 gallon rubber tank. Hope to get some animals drinking in it here since its a pool now. The spring/little creek doesnt have a place to pool up much so hoping to get some good pics later. It filled up pretty quick and is overflowing where I wanted it to at the downhill side.

absolutly yes. at the ranges a new young hunter will hunt its nice. low recoil. if your lookin for a new gun for her maybe a 6.5 creedmore. i started with a Marlin 30-30 and it was safe and efficent. though the 1st buck i shot i emptyed the gun and hit every piece of meat on him. Oh the memories. oh and all shots were 40yd or less. no buck fever here:rofl:

im old school, hell im just old. the youngins at camp are eat up with the 6.5. i looked into it and its very efficent and has good range.my oldest son just got one and very low recoil and accurate. yes any deer is fine i was just lookin back. killed a few does before i shot a buck.I helped him and sit this one up. mounts as low as possible without touchin the barrel.

Defiently a big supporter of .243. Thats what i started hunting with! My pap had a Remington 600 Mohawk carbine in .243. Such a fun bush gun for these hollows in PA. But now as an adult, my go to is my Rem 700 BDL in 25-06. Really awesome caliber at long range.

Funny you mention that. My favorite gun I own is a 600. I've loaned it to 4 different people that have killed their first deer with it.

Man, seeing that is bringing back memories lol. Ive had quite a few calibers over the years, as well as manufacturers. For a long while i was using a Savage in .270. Wicked gun. Only weighed like 5 lbs, was so nice to carry around in the mountains. Killed a mess of deer with it. But when i saw this 700 BDL 25-06 on the rack, i refused to leave without it :spending:

My dad was a huge Remington guy. My first gun as a child was a Rem 700 .243 that he gave me. He got the 600 about 30 years ago. On my 35th bday (which was 26 years ago), he gave it to me as a gift.
I still have them both. I shot a coyote with the 600 in Jan of this year.

As much as i liked the gun, at first i was was unsure of the caliber. As far as performance, etc. But i have it set up with a Nikon Prostaff 4-12, shooting Hornady american whitetail 117 grain. Its a deadly little gun

My dad and pap were the same way as well. All the rifles we're 600's and 700's. And all the shotguns we're 1100's or 11-87's. My uncle has a 700 Mountain rifle in 7mm-08 that im constantly trying to get him to give me the "friends and family" price for :D
