It’s hard to disagree with the call regardless of if he was hurt or not. You can’t just hold on to a single and eat those shots and expect the ref to allow it after that many.

30-31 shots unanswered to the head from a Monster was an easy call for a stoppage.

    Like, so many.
That was fun for a free card.
Arlovski looked sharp, but that was a nerve wracking fight!
    Edwards is no joke.
Walt put that dude down HARD.
I’m ready to see Hardy lose. I don’t like that guy.
Anyone know who got the bonuses?

He came out swinging. That’s what he needs to stick to. His chin isn’t what it used to be but Being conservative and getting picked up part hasn’t worked his last several fights

UFC is supposedly discussing a bout between Ben Askren and Damian Maia once Askrens medical suspension is up in September.

    Thoughts?

I like that matchup. Some would probably think it would be a snooze fest but I like seeing the technical side of things on these type of matches. I mean I’m not like a guru but I like watching it anyways.

I’m a big fan of grappling so match ups like this are super entertaining for me. Anytime 2 grapplers get into a ground exchange i get pumped. For example: Chiesa last fight with Sanchez. Absolutely loved that fight. Great display of grappling in that one.

Personally I think Maia would take that one. Askrens wrestling is top notch but Maia is a wizard on the ground. It’s what he does.

In my experience watching fights an excellent wrestler usually beats and excellent bjj guy. Since a lot of bjj submissions don't Cary over but you never know... Like watching 2 snakes go at it.

You must have loved Gracie vs Shamrock in UFC 5. 35 minutes of Gracie guarding and Shamrock not being able to do shit. I think there was one significant strike landed in OT and that was it. From a technical standpoint, considering the weight Gracie was giving away, it was a really damn good fight. Yeah, I've been watching the UFC for way to long. lol

Yeah but gracie was wearing a Gi and using it to grapple and hold. Love that guy but its a different game now. He was a killer with that technique

Matt Hughes proved it was a different game when he TKOd Royce in the first round at UFC 60. Then he decided to also TKO Renzo Gracie in the 3rd round at UFC 112. There's not many guys in the world that have beaten 2 Gracie's.

The good ole days. I miss what the sport use to be. Now its all these clown jumping divisions to get multiple belts. That shit pisses me off. Guys should need to work their way through contenders in each divsion for chance at belt. Nobody should ever have 2.

I remember watching UFC back in my younger days then switched over to Pride and totally loved it. UFC should do a grand prix event.
