Was yours the diy kit or one of the plug and play versions?

Just to make sure I’m clear...the diy kit and meso puddle lights work okay together in a stock mirror? I was never going to install the puddle lights or any mirror mod until I saw this. My JDM side has always wanted folding mirrors. Why not toss in some puddle lights while I’m in there?

 

Made a trip to the post office drive up drop box this morning. Folding windows made it much easier to drive close enough to the drop box.

Install tidbit: If you elect to put switch into bezel without the MESO controller bezel, for the best fit, you can shave the thickness of the bezel down. Otherwise the folding button sits just above or flush with the plastic bezel. I shaved the under side of the bezel so the controller sits in deeper and then secured it with a couple dabs of epoxy. Will be easy enough to cut the epoxy area if I ever need to replace the switch. This way the folding button sits higher like it does in MESO's piece and makes the cuts less noticeable.

 

Yes. You are 100% correct. The puddle lights work in the OEM Mirrors. For some reason the Aftermarket Mirrors there is a slight difference in the inner panel piece. I have no idea how that is possible but it is for some reason.

 

See...you never know how they will come in handy. I have used mine more than I ever thought I would. Until you have them on your truck, you too will be surprised at how much you will use these. Then you will tell yourself I should have got these babies sooner!!!!

Good tip! Nice cuts! I noticed it sat flush also, I was going to live with it if I had cut the switch pocket better. But the way you fit yours really has a nice OEM look to it.

 

Yeah. I might try it myself. I haven’t decided. I like the flush look because it goes with the rest of the panel and switches but I can see how I could like it a little higher.

By the way, for those that are questioning their skills to make the cut for the MESO Bezel, I did purchase two additional Bezels from Toyota that I thought I’d make the cut out of and then have them as an option in case someone really doubts themselves that they can get it from me in exchange for theirs and maybe just some for my labor time.

 

Clean looking cut. Any pictures during and before you installed the switch? What did you use for the cut and any tips you can add

 

Well I could kick myself. I didn't take pictures because I wasnt certain it would work and was prepared to use the MESO bezel. Not until I got the switch epoxied in that I thought I should of taken pictures, sorry all.

I used a hotknife. It's the razor tip that looks like a soldering iron. Because I saw a couple struggle with a dremel, figured I would try that and went slow and instead of plunging the knife in, just kept going over it until it broke through.

 

Hopefully we will start to get some Pre Orders soon as this will be a very expensive purchase up front and the only way to move forward is to go this route. So, if you are interested in getting these mirrors, please don’t wait. Get on the list now. Place your order.

 

If I pay in full upfront when should I expect it to be in my hands? Option 1 with Meso

 

It depends on how long it takes for people to get a decent amount of pre orders. This is like a $10k order upfront. It would be nice to get at least half of them on pre orders or a little less. I could probably start the process with a quarter of the way

 

For option one it comes with some sort of instructions right?

Also if I understand correctly you are doing pre orders to build up before you can start orders. What happens if you don’t get enough people...do you refund the money people paid?

 

They all come with the instructions I’m doing pre orders to build up to place the order yes. I would refund the money but I don’t see that happening. I may actually be able to wiggle some things around on my end to start sooner
