I'm extremely suprised how well these look on pyrite, especially with all the other black accents. I just had to get a set myself. I should have a pic by tomorrow =)

I have a quick question for those that have installed their own racks. I just did mine last night, and the front of the RH rack is not flush with the roof. I set the internal bracket correctly, the yellow holder screw inside is all the way into the hole on the internal bracket, I removed the sides of the small front bracket in the ditch, and all the rest of the screws are in tight. The front on that side is also looser than the LH side. Is there something I did wrong, or is the rack just not formed correctly? its a small gap, but it bugs the crap out of me, and it will obviously be catching wind, water etc. Any suggestions, or should I call the supplier and see if they will send a new one? Thanks for any thoughts you guys have.

A few mods here and there and counting....
Did you cut tabs on the actual roof? If i recalled correctly, the instructions said to cut part of a plastic tab off.

I don't have the gap at all.
What I would do is get some clear silicone and put it under there. Hold for a little bit. I'm sure that'll keep it in place. I don't know if its a big deal or not, but water, slow, ice, etc will get inside

Anytime. Actually after reading about this problem I looked at mine and they were lifting a bit. Thyey were fine a few months ago when I instaled them. I put some silicone on and now its perfect :)

I bent mine pretty good so there was some tension on the front bracket when installing the screw; no gap.

I wish Toyota made a wind deflector available; would keep it quiet with the bars out. The one drawback I have is when the bars are out; SAT radio reception sucks.

Hate to dig up an old thread but I just got my rack yesterday from a member here on the board, hence no instructions. Can someone give me the torque settings for the different sized bolts on this?

    Thanks!

Isnt that ridiculous. I just did the same thing. The dealer quoted me like 450$ for the rack and labor. Me, being cheap, said thanks but no thanks. Got the rack for like 240$ and installing myself. Thanks for the write up!
