The best part is you can turn lane departure off. I keep mine off as I feel it almost caters to people who drive while distracted.. ACC and Lane Departure Warning is a recipe for texting while driving...

Did you get the campaign done at the dealer concerning the radar sensor? The campaign adds a foam guard around the sensor and includes a software update. I haven't had the ghost braking after the campaign was done.

I’ll admit, ACC is one of my favorite features of my ‘18 TRDOR. It works flawlessly, and keeps me from having to constantly jockey the cruise control because of other drivers. I’m very happy with how it performs and would miss it if it were gone.

You sound like one of the run of the mill conspiracy theorists. The robots will kill us all. Mine works like an under the table tipped $20 hooker. Not sure what your problem is, but I'd start looking at paranoia and the government spies.

I'm sure you hate all the tech you couldn't get....
Says the guy touting the new "Supra" in his sig. hahahahahahahhaa.
Hopefully you saw the car released yesterday (for less money) with less "tech" since you hate it. Might want to update your sig.

Pre-collision warning, adaptive CC and lane departure are amazing and much needed technology with all today's traffic and distractions. My '18 TRD Sport DCSB will be a year old in a couple weeks with approx 12,000 miles and systems have worked flawlessly since new.

I'm very impressed with how well ACC works on my 2018 OR. It's kind of fun to be behind someone going slower than your set speed, pull into the passing lane, and suddenly the truck goes into 'passing mode' by itself.

Thats good to know, I have not got that done yet. Funny enough, I literally just had maintenance done at the dealer and they didnt even mention it.. I get home and check my mail (which I do every 2-3 weeks) and find the TSB in there for that... Why didnt the dealer tell me there was a TSB for my truck when I was there for maintenance??

ACC is great if you're not in a hurry and/or like to text and drive. Lane departure is also good for texting.
All these features were created for self driving cars but are very useful for safety too. I love that I can use or not use any of them in my 2019. Toyota nailed it.

I like the TSS features. There there to assist the driver not to replace the driver. My only concern about all the tech features being added to vehicles now days is that it is one more expensive item to fix if it breaks.

Well hang on to the vehicle you've got, because if that is truly your unwavering position, you won't be buying a new vehicle any time soon. Not only are these electronic assists here to stay, there will be more in the future.

I always amazes me how many people are against change and will fight it tooth and nail. Let's face it, humans are crappy drivers and anything that can make the roads safer is a good thing.

this old guy likes the ACC. this winter i was hwy driving in sleet conditions and was using it. i got a warning that the sensor was malfunctioning or dirty (the latter) and it reverted to
standard CC and i hated it. I should have pulled over and cleaned the sensor but waited til i got home to do it.
when using it, i am always on my guard as i approach a slow vehicle. its like a driving or aviation instructor always ready to take control if the student screws up. i trust it a lot more than
i did at first but will never completely. it is an aid (and a great one) but you are always pilot in command.

i got the recall done last week while getting my toyota care done. all they did was slap a foam shield over the back of the sensor to prevent water leaking into it.

There is also a software update that goes along with the foam shield.

i was not aware. then i am sure they did that. i would imagine they go thru some calibration procedure too. the only visual sign i saw was the foam shield.
i don't think i ever had a problem that that thing fixes, but glad to have it. price was right.
