Awesome. I just don’t want to have to trim around the fender flares. How is the tire holding up I know they recommend 7.5 width tire and up. No issues on the 7 inch width wheel?

Been searching for a couple days now through multiply threads. Anyone running this tire size 285/75/17 with 17x8.5 wheel 0 offset, 4.75BS? if so what UCA's are you running? I'm worried about clearance on the UCA side.

It depends on wheel width and what Upper control arms you have.. the best fit is probably 17x8.5 -10 4.3” backspace. The higher the offset (#s in the negative) the more trimming you will have to do (cab mount fenders etc). And anything with a more than a 0 offset might rub on your Upper control arms

What bs would you recommend for a 17x8" wheel? 0 offset 4.5bs?

285's are good, I miss my old taco with 35's. But this heap will do.

17x8.5 w 4.5 bs would be -6mm offset, 4.75 is 0 offset for 8.5 width which did you go with and did it work out?

Are those 285/70/17’s or are they 285/75/17’s ?

285/70/17’s fit quite easily, but 285/75/17’s are a lot harder to fit and require a bit of work.

I’m here to checkout the 285/75/17 tire fitment as the title states. Here’s a handy little chart for reference.

They are awesome no issue at all. The fender trimming is just at the bottom edge of front and back of fender down low. It is not the entire fender that needs trimmed.

    Went with the 4.5 bs.
All worked out great! Any larger than 285/70/17 would required more bs to clearing the JBAs. When I do go bigger I’ll just ad a 1” wheel spacer.

Gotcha, I can't find much info on other UCA's other than JBA as far as wheel offsets, and I've been looking for multiple hours. the wheels i'm looking at are 17x8.5 0 offset which is 4.75BS. I want to run this tire size 285/75/17 but not sure what, if any UCA I can buy that will increase caster and clear. I'd like to avoid spacers if possible, but they aren't out of the question.

SPC uppers can help with clearing.. as far as backspace 4.75 should clear the UCA.. unless it’s a big ball joint or oversized uniball uca..

Run a 1” bora spacer. I’m ordering a set. Used to hate the idea of spacers but ran em on my last TR4 w/o issue.

Looking around I've found info that if I run Total Chaos or any Unibal type UCA I should have no problem running this tire size with a 17x8.5 0 offset (4.75BS) wheel as far as rubbing on that end of the wheel, (uca side). So I'm thinking I will go that route. It seems the balljoint style UCA limits you much more in regards to rubbing the UCA from what I've researched.

I see, it seemed I could just find the most info about JBA UCA's are they considered a "big ball joint"? from research I've found on the JBA thread it seems guys are running 285/70/17 and barely clear the JBA UCA with 4.5BS which is what started my whole research into this. It seems total chaos will work and icon tubulars from others opinions that I've researched, if I don't want to go uniball I wonder what others I should look into, so far i'm leaning toward Total Chaos UCA but will definitely look into SPC uppers if you think they will work with that wheel size and BS. I'd prefer to go with a ball joint type if I know it will work out.

You’ll want to increase your caster if you want to clear the bigger tires. LR or JBA UCA’s will allow for that. I’m currently running 4 degrees of caster and it’s great. Not sure what you can achieve for caster with the TC ucas so you might want to look into that.
