The ecoboost 3.5L concept (twin, mini turbos, maximize torque as soon as possible) is a well thought out design for a truck.

But you can't take Ford's quality, or lack of, and blame the idea.

Not long ago we were looking at 2019 raptors, as we need an in house benchmark to beat with the Tacoma. But they were $70k+ and interior quality was worse than the TRD Pro by far in my opinion. Ford is known for QC issues. Look at the Fiesta transmission, for example.

But this same idea will make itself known in the new tundra with the V35A, twin turbo 3.5L that produces maximum (limited) torque from 1600 rpm.

The next gen Tacoma, which is years out, will get a turbo 4cyl, at least what I was told.

I am eagerly awaiting the new Tundra that hopefully will have the TT setup. It might be a "ripoff" of the Ford EcoBoost motors but Toyota will do it better. This is sorely needed to make the Tundras competitive, the other guys get waaaaayyy better MPG. I came close but I just couldn't trade my trusty 2009 Tacoma on an F150. I'll hold out for the Tundras. Hope they don't make me wait too long.

Matches things I’ve heard as well. If you want a V8 Tundra, 2020 is your last year.

I just want Raptor power in a 1500lb lighter and more nimble truck. Even this should make for one heck of a fun dessert runner type truck!

Isn't your EFR turbo good for up to 1000HP? At least according to the BW web site it is. Since you already have a built engine where do you plan on stopping? 700 HP, 800HP or are you going all the way to 1000HP?

Edit:I was curious why you are getting new cams when you already have custom made cams.

it doesn't matter, the bracket is a junk design in any application. but the bar was and is good.

If whipple made a blower for the Tacoma I'd be in heaven. OR Kenne Bell. That's on a GT500 though, guy who lives 5 mins from me. Makes 750 to the tires on 93 octane, at I believe 19psi. It sounds soooooooooooo good taking off.
