Felt bad for the guy parked outside the Fire Dept with the access cab Tacoma. It sat up quite a bit higher than that red truck that was almost submerged next to it and looked like it had a front bumper on it.

    A thing or two...
I'm high and basically dry. That storm that knocked my power out last month caused a roof leak and the temporary fix had been holding up. I found water in the bucket that I'd left sitting where it had leaked when I got home from work today.

I don't usually get on during work.

The backside of the storm kept it under 90 degrees here for a day. That was awesome

Also, anyone ever have their rear view just fall off? Thankfully it was a slow fall, so no damage. The glue that was holding it just failed. Called the Toyota dealer for their suggestion, they said to get with Safelite. Kinda concerning how small the area is where the mirror is glued onto the windshield.

    Yeah.
I've had them fall off in a couple of vehicles, but not for a while. Usually happens in the heat. There's usually a "button" that glues to the windshield that the mirror attaches to, but could be different now. There's a specific kind of glue for it, you can get it at vatozone.

I had the mirror fall off a few times in the truck I had back in HS.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Multnomah Whiskey Library in Portland, OR last night. Over 2,000 whiskeys from around the world. I parted with more of my money that I'd like to admit but it was a really cool place.

    Yeah.
I love Portland, but that show Portlandia does a great job of showing its oddness. A buddy of mine started and owns Podnah's Pit there, always voted the best BBQ in the northwest (he is from TX) and once written up in Bon Apetit. But it's cool places like a whiskey library that help make it awesome.

My favorite place was McMenniman's (sp?) Brewery, the location out east called the Power Station. Converted an old power station to a restaurant/brewery with a small movie theater, a bed and breakfast, herb garden, and sometimes a glass blower or other artists out around the garden area. They grow hops on the power line towers.

Oregon is the only place I would live on the west coast. But I'm afraid it's sandwiched in between a couple of messed up states and won't last.

Quoted for truth. I've really enjoyed my week here but I've seen some things here I don't think I'd ever see anywhere else. I can see why people like it and I loved having all of the unique local places to eat/drink. My only real gripe is the law against pumping your own gas. I had to wait 20 minutes at the gas station this morning because it was the only one around that was open and they only had one attendant on duty. I tried to pump my own because I was in a hurry to catch a flight and they shut the pump off on me. I'd argue that if someone doesn't have the technical ability or mental acuity to pump their own gas they probably shouldn't be driving a vehicle.

    Yeah.
LOL, I know! The first time I went there the attendant looked like a homeless guy, and I thought he was just trying to do it so I would give him some money, kind of like cleaning a windshield. I had an argument with him about my ability to pump my own gas -- he kept saying "You can't!" and I'm like "No, I know how to pump gas, thanks though." It took him a while to get to the part where he worked there and it was state law. I think that's mainly why they do it -- to create jobs for the homeless. Not a bad idea, but weird.

Another thing about Portland is that it is even gloomier than Seattle. Absolutely beautiful when the sun comes out, but mostly gloom.

I just returned from Detroit. I was hoping for cooler temps, but that didn't happen. The wife and I are going to roll the windows down and take the Taco up to Jasper Tuesday for a nice drive and a late breakfast. Can't pass up the weather.

I love Jasper. I've often thought if I'd move there and work at the lumber yard or the grocery store for 11 bucks an hour if it wouldn't be a better life experience than Little Rock. All that outdoors in your backyard, and it must be a real tough commute from Parthenon every day...

We too love Jasper, the Ponca area even more (up into Compton). IMO, there are few places in AR that are more beautiful.
