You think Arkansas is the only place people don’t want to touch their neighbor, or you Arkansans are the only ones smart enough to not build on a quarter acre lot and then complain about their neighbor?

I'll just make a long story really, really short for everyone here.

Its amazing the reaction you get from a threatening neighbor when they hear the sound of a round being loaded into a pump, 12 gauge shotgun. Oh, and uh, I made sure they heard it. Never had a problem with them again.

Oh well. I had come back from the shooting range up in north Alabama one Saturday. I was about 5pm in the fall and I was tired so i hit the door to grab a cold one and left the guns in truck. About half and hour later I went out to get them and sure enough the drug selling neighbors son and his "homies" were out in their driveway, doing their dealing. Me and that particular neighbor have some history prior to this day. So he knows that I know what he is doing. Well, that particular day, I guess he was feeling his nut sack growing and thought he would test me. So he starts reaching inside his car and coming out with his hand shaped like a gun and pointing it at me and saying "bang". He does this several times. Everyone is laughing and they all start to copy his actions.

Well at this point, that was the proverbial straw that broke the camels back. I had had enough. So I grabbed the 12 gauge out of the truck, grabbed a hold of the pump and "SHLICK SHACK!!!!"

You know how it looks when you have trouble with roaches, and you come in during the night, turn the lights on and they scatter like hell?

That's about what it looked like, when I loaded that round.

    Problem solved.

There was another situation that I will not speak of because it was just too real. "My life or their life" real. It haunted me for weeks. Thank God the outcome was not bloody and nobody got shot. Young man, drugged up and in his mind mistook me for someone he thought I was, but wasn't. After words, went to draw on me, but I drew first. Only God in heaven gave me the words to diffuse the situation.

I almost took his life that night. It made me sick the next day because I knew I would have if he had not of backed down. I tell you that to say this to all of you:

If you find yourself in that situation, and you are not prepared inside yourself, then you will hesitate or make a rash decision. My beloved father told me once: If you draw a gun on a man, then you better be prepared to kill him or he will kill you.

I hope I NEVER find myself in that situation again.
