Didn't know someone had already made a turbo Taco lol! Numbers look decent for only 7.5psi of boost!

@Torspd has been turbo boosted for many years as has a 2nd gen Tacoma. His current turbo is an EFR 9180 which he is currently pushing out around 15 psi but he has plans of going much higher. It is nothing like the turbo that Mat from OV tune will be using. He has a great build thread.

Took them out to swap out the intake cams. Basically my builder years ago didn't have time to thoroughly check phase change of full advance to piston clearance, on the intake cams. So the were locked in a fixed position. Going into the project I though swapping in the OEM intake cams would give me back some low end torque because I would regain VVT. Noticed some spots on the cams that required attention. Snow balled into talking with Kelford, testing clearances, and new cams at the right price. Now these can be repaired and installed in my other engine. ;)

Soon my engine will be where it needs to be, and then won't be long before another Dyno session. :D

Need the built Magnum T56 to sustain the 1000 whp level. It's on the books though. :anonymous:

With some big brakes and a couple inches of drop, that would be a monstrous sleeper. Wheelspin could be an issue, though.

I’ve been trying to follow this thread but fell off and there’s been a ton of posts since. Has Mat ever said what the predicted HP add is going to be for the TT setup and what boost that assumes? How much more boost can the truck handle on top of what he would consider baseline?

Also I see on the website the price is nearing $5k. Not bad. But it says you need the tune which is fine. Do you also need the dump tubes?

Planning on installing the Chasis Unlimited floating ladder bar in preparation for FI. Pretty solid kit but I had them make custom brackets that will weld on closer to the rear diff housing instead of welding onto the axle near the exhaust & passenger side leaf spring. Takes some modification but I think it will work out better for off roading since the ladder (traction) bar will be running parallel and close to the drive shaft.Screen Shot 2019-06-30 at 8.26.19 AM.jpgScreen Shot 2019-06-30 at 8.25.59 AM.jpg

Curious as to why you think you'll need traction bars with a FI setup. Is axle wrap that bad when going FI on a Tacoma? My Furd was pushing 500whp and didnt feel any axle wrap.

Depends on how soft the leaf springs are.

Ah that makes way more sense. I'm still learning the offroad suspension needs for high horsepower applications

I had Caltrac style bars on my Tundra with Deaver springs. They worked great and didn't limit travel/suspension movement while offroading at all.

    https://www.calvertracing.com/caltracs.html

The issue was that those springs did not have an overload spring to act as a traction bar so the axle would twist so hard that the ujoints were binding. Also that truck was making about 600hp (crank) and had 325 series tires with a LSD so hopefully the power levels we're looking at on the Tacomas wont give us those kinds of issues that truck had.

All I want is two pieces of information regarding the SC kits.

    1. What are the gains of the various stages?
    2. What is the cost of the kit?

Reading through this thread, I've learned everything except those two things. I know, I know...be patient. I'm trying!
