    Hey guys,

Quick question. To those who have had the experience, do car dealerships do OTD for out-of-state customers? Especially with a used vehicle?

    Thanks

Mine did . I purchased in SC and drove it back to MD. Only thing I had to do was pay for tags at the DMV and also had to pay for MD inspection

Not sure exactly what you're asking, but I bought from an independent used car dealer. I live in Oregon and the truck was in Washington. After talking to them on the phone and receiving pics, I made them a cash offer. No BS. This is the CASH price I told them I would pay if the truck passed my inspection, lay the cash on the table, pick up the title and drive away. Everything went as planned. Oh yeah, before I left, I took off the cardboard car lot license plate things and handed them to them. I already had an Oregon trip permit with me and proof of insurance on the truck from my insurance company.

I think I am having a similar situation. So you agreed the OTD price with the dealership. I assume that they took care of dealer fees, your home state, MD, sales taxes. Then you just got the truck inspected and paid for the registration? Can you provide me a little bit more details? Thanks man

so what if the truck did not pass your home state inspection? Would you drive back with the title and get all the cash back? Was this included in the contract/sales statement or something?

In Oregon, there is no state inspection. All I had to do was get a VIN inspection at DMV.

Bought a used vehicle earlier this year from an out of state dealer and they took care of everything. I didn't have to step foot into the DMV...plates were mailed to us.

Exactly what happened they agreed to the price sent me all the paperwork fedex I signed them sent them back to them. So I had a signed purchase order we both signed. Flew down on a Saturday morning gave them a bank check and drove home. If you have anymore questions ask away.

Mine was certified Toyota so it had no problem passing inspection plus I knew someone who had already looked at it. Also I found the previous owner which was a huge benefit.

If you don't mind I am asking, was the final price (truck + sales taxes) lower than the advertised price of the truck?

No it was a 2015 Pro with 28,000 miles I paid asking price +sales tax. I would only purchase, out of state with a signed purchase order from the dealer before you fly anywhere. That way you know the exact cost and they can’t change anything when you arrive.
