Dealership dropped something in cylinder head during spark plug replacement

Didn’t even mention plugs were changed

Anyone hazard a guess and how they ‘fixed’ it?

 

Would be fun for a TW "prospective buyer" to go in look it over, and start asking questions leading up to the WTF did you guys do? These engines are pretty reliable, right? Shouldn't need any major work at this mileage, right? Do you have any service records on this truck that show any major problems?

my guess is since they didn't report it, that they would not disclose that information to you at all. Whoever buys that truck will have no idea until they accidentally find info from a google search of the vin and find this thread.

 

at most they slapped on a new cylinder head and called it a day i would bet. I would also bet there are some nicks on the bore and piston still present. Engine might be fine but thats a big "might".
Then again I wouldnt put it past them to just put the cylinder head back on and run it and no one would be the wiser.

i did my dads 4.0 spark plugs and its not a hard job. how could a pro screw this up?

Just now looking at the car fax. 3 reported damage, bolt in the engine deal, with 60k on the clock. who would pay close to 30k for that truck?

When i was used truck shopping i was interested in this tundra then i checked the car fax. the truck was brought into the dealership for 3 straight months for something that wasn't listed within 3k mile time period. If there wasnt something wrong with that truck i would eat my hat.

Why is it I can view this Carfax for free, but others I get charged?

Okay the used car director will be calling me back as the sales person seemed to get frustrated with my questions
