Affordable aftermarket front bumper

Does anybody know of some good lighter and simpler front bumper options. After rebuilding the 3 piece stock job just thinking ahead idk if i want to spend that time and money on one again if something happens to it. Google searches show $650+ in price. Any thing for $500 and less bells and whistles. With a 4cyl i also dont want a heavy duty reinforced steel either.

Wow i wish i had seen coastal before buying the stock numbe . Thats a good price and i like the bumper.

 

Trail gear can be bought through jegs with free shipping if you like tube bumpers. Mine came out to like $480 a few years ago

 

trial gear is probably going to be your best and cheapest option. It's a tube bumper.

CBI has a kit bumper too. Cost is around $450 (+ shipping) for a badass looking winch bumper. Even if you add in the cost of my welder, I basically broke even as if I had bought a fully assembled Moab 1.0 bumper.

 

I like this bumper look too.....can you install it yourself (I.e. turning a few wrenches?) Or do you need a welder to help with install?

If you buy the pre-assembled Moab 1.0 bumper, it's bolt-on. Except you generally need to then do some trimming on the body panels because this bumper sits so much higher than stock.

You can see here there are some body panel pieces that hang down that should be cut off.

I also relocated my window washer reservoir to inside the engine bay instead of in the passenger fenderwell:

 

LOL!!!! I thought the thing came put together.....I thought it was more of a "bolt on". .

 

If you buy the "Moab 1.0" then it does come assembled and is essentially bolt-on. The kit I bought is the same bumper, just none of it welded. Expect to pay ~$800+ for the complete bumper, though.

Even with the complete bumper, like I said, there will be some trimming you'll want to do on the body panels.

It's not really the body panels like the fenders and stuff. I just used a hack saw and the cutoff wheel on my dremel. All the cuts are hidden by the bumper itself.

Also, if you don't have, or plan to have a winch, I'd steer away from this bumper. You could get an even lower profile one that doesn't have space for a winch. This once sticks out a fair amount, so there's a "learning curve" on finding the new front of my truck. In other words, I hit a few things like sign posts because I wasn't used to the bumper sticking out that far (it's only a few inches, but enough, lol)
