    Lots.
Well I posted a thread in June that my dog was being put down. It was really sad but I have rallied and my parents and I are ready for a new one.

His name right now is Jake from the rescue association but I think a name change to Aussie is in order since he is an Australian Shepard. He is two years old and will shake with either paw when you stick your hand out.

These are the only pictures but my mom is on her way to Philly to pick him up.
He's very cute in an ugly sort of way :D

congrats! I have a 6 mo. old Aussie mix that I rescued as well. GREAT dogs! MAXTacoma (Neil) has one as well and a few other I think on this board have or had them.

Just a heads up.... they are smart! dont underestimate them! even my 5 mo. old knows how to open the doggy gates and run free in the house when we are home. (we crate her when we leave). Have a job for the dog to do around the house. I am doing agility stuff with mine so she can wear herself out.

    Good luck and enjoy!
Thank you for rescuing as well!

Very cute pup. I too saved an Australian Shepard. However he is a mini. Very loyal and loving. You will have fun with him.

Cool thanks! Yes he seems very smart. I'm in college but what would I have him do around the house?

mine is very hard headed as well...
they love to be with their people. take him on lots of car rides, lots of walks. Once he is good on a leash (after taking lots of walks around the neighborhood or bike trail), take him down to campus and walk around... let him get used to people. Throw Frisbee/ tennis ball. They are active dogs. If they are bored, they tend to cause trouble and tear stuff up. Not trying to scare you or anything. Just letting you know what to expect with that kind of dog. They are work dogs, made for herding cattle so they are constantly looking for something to do.

Campus is about 7 hrs away. He won't be spending much time up at school. When I go home I will take him everywhere. I can't wait! He will ride shotgun everywhere!!! Dog park here we come!
