@Sperrunner would there be any benefit to insulating the AC lines running through the engine bay? I know the ones on the inside of the firewall are

I mean it wouldn’t hurt as far as ik for home ac. I think i read about it for cars and I think they said its pointless. Let me research for you

No LBJs are not all created equal. I ain't going down this road cause I know no one here will agree with me even if I cared. I have my reasons for using Moog because of what happened to my OEMs. My Moogs have lasted longer than my OEMs that came on my truck and when I replaced the Moogs last week they weren't even bad, no play or grittyness at all, about 120K on them. And I will continue to use Moogs.

 

Yep, that's the one I'm using too except I changed out the tip with a flexible shaft. Unfortunately HF doesn't sell the flexible tip anymore.

 

bah, well I can probably get to the bushings zerks without a flexible tip...at least I think so, gonna have to check.

 

Oh that's a good sign, I stand corrected, maybe it is a lube issue. Hopefully the Daystar stuff will cure it.

 

yeah I mean I have to douse them in the PTFE spray...I've been going through a can of the stuff every few weeks lately. But it does do the trick for at least a day or two.

 

Yeah you might not need it. I use the flex tip cause it's easier to grease my UCAs with it. Who knows, your HF might still have them in stock. I went to 2 different HFs h bought all that I could find when I found out they were being discontinued.

The flex tip is not located by the grease gun though, they put them with the air tool accessories like where the fittings & stuff are

 

There seems to be alot of back amd forth on it. Some guys say leave it alone others say they have done it and seen 2 degree drop.

 

Just remember to loosen the eye bolts & shackles when you grease them. Otherwise the grease doesn't get in there as well when it's all tight. That's how I grease my UCAs too and is how TC recommends to do it.

 

Cotter pins? Good silicone grease for anything? Got all the tools you need for it? You need a new socket for one that became permanently attached to nut?

I was just doing some cleaning in my parents garage... anyone want the front bumper and associated brackets from my green truck and I also have a wind deflector for the hood from it as well.

 

Well duh I never did that 15 years ago when I put that Ironman lift on my Nissan with greasable pins. I never loosened the pins. No wonder greasing never helped my squeaks back then. Damn.

 

What shackles you have in the rear?

 

I never thought to do that either, no wonder most of the grease just oozes out from between the bushings and the leaves lol.
