BD5 installed 2 weeks ago.....some pics from them...they have been cleaned up but no pics until this coming week.

I have already eliminated the slight issues with the Silicone on the bottom holes. These were quick pics after install!

A single BD white rocklight on these is INSANELY bright! It helped us a ton on our camping trip last weekend.

Camping at 10,000' and setting up was the best part....the single light literally was amazing....almost TOO bright!

I ended up using Black RTV for the seals between the BD5 and the cab. Just felt like it would hold up better than simply using silicone. If I were to do it all over, and I might, I would use RTV for the spaces that the wires from the BD rock lights go into the lower holes to pass the wires thru.

So after two weeks simply waterproof! Also, the outer amber lights will be set up as safety flashers/chase lights connected to the switchpros 9100 but still working on that as we speak!

Anybody know where I can buy replacement lenses for KC Cyclones? I have cracks in my far right red and clear.
I must have hit something because I know I didn’t over tighten them. I need one clear and one red.

I pm’d KC Tyler already, but just wanted to check with y’all. Maybe somebody has extras.

finally installed my BD 4 yesterday. Whoever suggested using a 1/2 in. bit to drill out the OEM bolts is a moron. Use a 1/4 or 3/8 max. 1/2 puts way to large of a hole in and tears up the sheet metal. I probably should have painted it first, will look for matte black. I used those handy solder filed joiners with hot glue on either end. Also used rtv gasket maker for the back AND a small silicone bead around the outer perimeter...cause I'm not F'ing around with any more leaks. I think this is a good product, thoughtfully and tastefully designed. I've told Meso this directly, but the one thing that I think would make it better is including longer bolts to attach the individual pods, larger and through driller holes to attached the pods and nuts to hold them down. I don't think rely on bolt as "self tapping" into plastic is a solid engineering choice considering I have $400 in light pods attached that way now.

I don’t think so, at least I don’t know of any places on the truck where they did this . Toyota uses self tapping screws not bolts to tap into plastic.

Just a tip - be careful how much/how deep you drill. I used a 1/2 in bit and didn’t touch the sheet metal. Drilled it just enough to break the plastic housing so that it fell off.

I used a half inch, wasn't a moron though. Just drilled the plastic like a normal person.

So....Not to be a DICKHEAD but you could have simply preserved your 3d brake light and simply pulled down the rear of the headliner.

IT IS not that hard....just takes like (in and old guy fashion)....20 min at best.

I put a bead of silicone around the outside edge of mine. A few months in Seattle rain and no leaking.

yeah i didn't think to do the screw holes, hope I don't regret that. I did RTV on both sides of the rubber gasket, bolted it down, wiped the excess, then finished with a bead of silicone around the edge.

am i a moron for not painting it? does that plastic hold up to UV, etc? @MESO ?
