I think if you order that you are politely and firmly invited to leave.

@G.T. you and I at one point had the conversation that you would not do air lockers again if your had the option that you would do an E-locker. What was the name of the brand you suggested? I was looking a Harrop but apparantley they have some sort of design flaw that if you roll backwards it disengages the locker and you have to roll forward again to re-engage it which I think could be bad if your on a technical section.

Not familiar with a design flaw in Harrop lockers. I think all elockers do that.

This is the video I saw that kind of shows how during technical sections the Harrop specifically can engage and disengage. Start at 0:59. Is this person wrong?

OME 884’s ,Dakar hd’s, Jba uca, lce header, 4.88’s, Arb locker , j shift tcase-T4R, arb bumper, leer topper, 3500w inverter, mad wife, scratched paint, skid plates, snorkelerer, led flush mount reverse lights, etc..

They use 3 balls and a circular plate with cutouts for the balls, when the locker engages that plate gets stuck magnetically to carrier. As the plate turns it forces the balls to push out and engage the locker and stays engaged until deactivated or reversing. While locked it’s strong but when you need to reverse to choose a different line the locker disengages for about half a tire rotation. IMO this could lead to increased risk of shearing an axle shaft if you’re not careful on the skinny pedal.

Air lockers, even though the system is more complicated, are just as strong as a spool when engaged. I have had small air leaks in the winter time, the locker will stay engaged but the pump runs every 5 mins rather than every 15ish

So are all E-lockers designed that way or is there a better option than Harrop?

Harrop/Eaton is the only aftermarket design I’m aware of

The ARB, Harrop, and maybe the grizzly locker (?) are the only selectables. True tracs a limited slip and the rest are auto lockers

I could go for a limited slip in my 17. That’s the one thing I still miss from my 2005. Auto lsd just isn’t the same as a mechanical LSD
