Any of you Texas dudes find a shop to do the ECGS bushing replacement? My son and i did the Bilstien/Headstrong 2” lift and I’ve got the vibes. If cost is insane then I’ll do it myself, but I won’t have a day off for a month. I live in Burleson, so Fort Worth/Arlington area is my stomping ground. Thanks.

I had a local mechanic do mine up here in Maine. I provided him the bushing and ECGS tool. Only took him about 2 hours to do.

Oh yeah I totally agree. Was wondering if there’s a Taco owner in Fort Worth/Arlington Tx. that could recommend a shop for this repair.

Tandem is the default go-to for almost everything up here, but it's something you can do yourself if you're comfortable pulling the CV.

@Suprajim54 helped me do it back when @hoarder23 was still around. He may still have the tool.

Believe me I would. I work @ a defense contracted machine shop and my next day off won’t be for a long while. I’ve heard of Tandem. I’ll check them out. I’ve got a guy @ a shop in Burleson that’s gonna call me tomorrow with a quote too. Thanks to you dudes for helping out. The top was my 1st post on here. If I end up buying the extractor tool I’ll let any one of ya borrow it.

    Too few to list.
Are you sure the vibes are coming from the needle bearing?

It’s a Textron company-that’s a big ‘ol hint, not sure about posting exactly where I work man. As for the vibes- In 2wd it’s a rhythmic vibration that sounds like your driving over really small divots. It increases with speed then seems to disappear or become so frequently timed it’s unnoticeable at highway speeds. Then at slower speeds through my neighborhood it completely disappears when I engage 4wd.

Got a buddy with a shop in Hurst that I'm sure could do it. Its called Hurst import. I got the tool I can drop off to them too. I'm on a drill rig right now in south Texas but should be home in two weeks or so.

Thanks bud. If I don’t have this straightened out by then I’ll hit ya up. I’ll call that shop tomorrow. So you went through this too? My son and I got done with the lift install yesterday. When we let it off the jack I was all smiles-the lift looks friggin awesome. Then we test drove it. We noticed the vibe right off.

I did. Make sure that’s the issue, and not something driveshaft/carrier bearing.

For this issue, it should present around 25-45mph-ish, and go away in 4wd.

That’s pretty much what I’ve got goin on to the T. Apparently this happens a lot yet the 4 shops near me turned me down over the phone. None had even worked on a 2015 or newer Taco (that’s a good thing). Carrier bearing/driveshaft vibes would become more prominent at higher rpm’s right? If that were it I can make the shims at work on my lunch break.

I don't know exactly. My symptoms matched up with the ECGS fix, so I went for it. It worked, so I stopped there.

What kind of mill are you on out there?

If it goes away in 4X4 then it's most likely the bearing but I have seen threads with multiple issues and the needle bearing was just part of it in regards to vibes. The needle bearing you can actually hear with a stethoscope when spinning the front ds tire off the ground.

I would also get a new Toyota seal for that as well.
