WTF, it's supposed to be sunny and 93, meanwhile it has basically rained all day and is 75. Not complaining but I don't really want to set up various tents and do tarp setups on wet ground if I don't have too.

Never thought to do escargot on taters, don't know how the French would take to that LOL. But don't really give a damn what they think, as long as it taste good

First time I had escargot was at the Hyatt Regency Grand Regency in Singapore. It was in the late 70s, and an appetizer before my steak. Still have the receipt someplace around here the meal and 2 beers cost me around $100, back then I got paid $184 twice a month by the Navy whether I needed it or not. Had pulled into Singapore after 118 days straight at sea, felt I deserved to treat myself. It was a much better steak than the one I had in Mombasa, Kenya Africa which to this day am pretty sure was the oldest and toughest water buffalo they could find.

So this morning at 0300 my big dog is panting and pawing at my wife and awakens me. I then hear the distinct chirp of the smoke detector letting me know the battery is low. So I roll over thinking I can get to it in 2 hours after I've showered...oh no, bullshit! This dog is freaking out. So I figure I'll just get up real quick, change it and go back to sleep for 45 minutes. Nope. It's at the top of the ceiling....the vaulted ceiling. Go to the drawer, grab a battery, get ladder out of the garage, up the ladder, change battery, get my feet back on the tile floor and hear another chirp. Wtf?! A 2nd detector is chirping. Back to drawer, out of 9v batteries. Screw this. Go jump in the shower, going to take a quick one because I know the house down the street I watch during the summer has a bunch, I'll just replace what I take. Next thing I know I feel something brush my leg. It's my dog, still freaked out and won't leave my side and I've already dropped soap suds on him. So now I wash the dog, wife brings a towel, she takes him, I get out, get dressed, to the other house (checked it all while I was there)....everything from there goes as planned, dog's clean, house is quiet, dog is still kinda wonky but getting better. Go to work at 0430 because I'm already dressed, why not. Fast forward to about noon-30, moving equipment. Get excavator in place, back to the yard, jump in the loader... THE F'KING BATTERIES ARE DEAD!! Oh, you gotta be bullshitting me! Nope, town, 2 batteries from Cat dealer. I'll take them out tomorrow. If it wasn't already 1400 hrs I was going to call it a day anyway just on principle.
