3rd Generation Tacoma's receive much praise, but also a fair amount of legitimate gripes. There's the loyal Tacoma owner that's owned one or both previous gens, the new owner, the guy who traded his other mid-size, etc. Everyone has a different perspective on the Tacoma truck, whether if it's focused on this generation, or drawn from many years of experience.

I'd like to get an idea of which factor made you gravitate towards Tacoma the most?

I'd had a gen 2 I never should have sold. Liked the upgrade in the gen 3 line. Only wanted quicksand. It's the best truck on the planet imo with the perfect amount of room for my daily driver, infinitely customizable and it cannot be killed by conventional weapons.

    That about sums it up.

Tacomas are the off road utility trucks for people who like to party WAY harder than Jeep people. They have always looked amazing, and performed even better. IMO “performance” for an off road utility truck isn’t horsepower, it’s dependability.

My Dakota was getting to the point where I was tired of fixing things on it and when I saw the 3rd gen Tacoma I knew I wanted one. I did go look at and consider other trucks, but I always came back to the Tacoma. It also helped that the wife was on board with it matching her Rav4.

I had an 2007 FJ before this, but it was becoming a money pit. Starting looking at Tacomas and 4Runners, because who would get something other than a Toyota?

    Yes.
Nobody wants to be seen in a Jeep is why. Also I like the resale value and feeling like my money is somewhat invested in something.

Do you believe or not. I googled "best Offroad truck".

It's showed "TACOMA" every time I searched.

The time I was going to change the car, Jeep was a first

Choice. After I googled, than I WANT the TACOMA.

My personal reasons, in the order of importance to me:

Off road capabilities - not like my former Wrangler, but still really good and best in its class
    Reliability - beats the Wrangler
On road manners - beats the Wrangler
Hauling, towing, storage space - beats the Wrangler
