To be honest I think it's just a good climate for them. I compost and all that but not giving myself that much credit :p

My harvest of sweet onions and garlic laid on my shop floor to cure with a fan blowing on them.

Ha! They were on sale for $10/lb. going back tomorrow to get another 2 pounds so I can do some experimenting with them. Gonna smoke some, sear some, grill some, bacon wrap most of them

Well you pushed me over the edge LOL. We have similar taste and I believe we have learned a lot from other. I used to have a bay tree for almost 10 years that I tried to keep bonsai size but eventually killed it trying to keep it small. I miss it, and the bay leaves.

I am down to just a thyme and basil plant which for the 6 weeks of piss of piss poor sledding here are now outside.

    thyme and basil.jpg

When I bring them back inside in a few weeks have been considering using a LED grow light that pot growers use, and adding green onions (scallions) which cost a fortune here. And now garlic. Thank you very much good sir! After using fresh and grown in compost, worm castings, etc. store bought herbs just aren't the same. Don't care where you get them from

You are a bad influence on me. Well not really...

There are 2 types of scallps, bay and sea. The sea scallops are larger than bay almost 3 times larger. But if cooked correctly are fantastic. Bay are more tender for most cooking methods. But if sea scallops are done right they are even better, but it is tricky.

Grilling them is hard I prefer to cook in bacon grease with minced garlic. Normally 3 minutes but it depends on thickness and temperature. I like them as well or better than lobster or king crab. Fine line when cooking them but the more you do the better you get at it.

Bacon grease. Garlic. Works for me

Grilled is tricky but can be done.

But cooked in bacon grease and garlic wins IMO.

Those LEDs used to grow marijuana’s are the shit. I highly recommend them. They’re pricey but they’re cheap to run and produce very little heat. If I don’t start an outdoor plant or two, I likely will get some LEDs when I finally get a few clones to grow inside

As long as you leave out the grits. It's like eating sand.

Whatever, don't hate on grits. They were a staple for the poor for more than a hundred years in America. Even the Northern state ate it daily until the 1860s.

Garlic as a seasoning it thought to pre-date salt.

Even some meat like ribs where thought to be low grade meats until the poor started smoking it to make it tender enough to eat.
