crawling along at 10psi makes for quite a smooth ride plus the increased traction on the rocks makes it an overall win for me :D

I ran one 4x trail once at street PSI (30 or 35) cause we were trying to get to the top quick to see the fireworks in the valley below for the 4th of July, was a few years ago. I'll never forget how fucking awful that was, also how much harder that trail was than usual because I wasn't aired down. never again

Airing down is probably the best overlooked thing by beginners and intermediates lol

I never really seem too see them in real life that much but on TW it's crazy how many people don't. We did have a Raptor in our group once that refused to air down because he was convinced it was bad for his tires. He struggled

If you're going 35+ on low psi you will wreck the sidewall and risk blowouts but at low speed it's not an issue at all. IIRC damage comes from the internal heat of sidewall flexing at high speeds

yeah I'm the guy that will hold everyone up so I can air up if we have to get on pavement for a bit in-between trails, I won't get on the street with 15psi unless it's maybe just a mile or two. But I know guys that will cruise home on on the freeway running that low pressure because they don't want to air up. Well...one guy in particular lol. I reckon they've never been in a car that's had a tire blowout at freeway speeds, it sucks.

    Everything but the driveshaft. B03A - 410
I can remember my mom talking about airing down her "then bias ply" tires to get home from work during an ice storm.

I'd be amazed if anyone nowadays understands this. If I met a woman that even mentioned airing down as a solution to traction and ride comfort she would instantly have a ring on her finger after me hearing that:D

amen to that. My wife is into antiques and stuff so I found an antique engagement ring at a shop for pretty cheap that she loves, wayyyy cheaper than what most engagement rings go for brand new. That whole "spend 3 month's salary on a ring" BS is ridiculous

Yeah was just one of the few hundred life lessons I had to learn hard way. Kinda funny I got to work with synthetic diamonds for a few years in an industrial application, for oil drilling. Really freaking cool. We can create that hardness of a diamond in a controlled environment in like 90 seconds, that would naturally require hundreds of years of slow gravitational pressure to form. Still blows my mind

Yeah after seeing what's involved with the mining and stuff too(the workers and conditions, etc I know I'm a hippie whatev) .... :( definitely wasn't for me. I love that the newer generations of adults/young adults it seems like they are into the diamonds and jewelry less and less, which is a big compliment to them
