I remember your posts from a few years ago in first gen section and then later noticed the third gen taco in your info. That's sweet you bought back your actual old first gen! Was much done to it during it's 2 years in exile?

Just search around for frame rust. There are several threads on that. Because of the boxed frame, it's a big ask to be able to repair the rust there (they typically rust from the inside out). Might take a few pics and post in one of those threads, or start a new one.

One of my favorite (anonymous) quotes:

"Do you know when the first motorcycle race was held? Right after they built the 2nd motorcycle."

    So yeah, it's a competition... :D

I must admit the first time I saw this regional style it was a shock to the system. Now I think it’s ridiculous in a good way.

Thought i'd add to the red theme,
Really haven't done much but change up the suspension from stock to OME/Bilstiens, add a cap and change my tires around more than i do my socks.
But here it is leading a pack of 3rd gens :D

    A few bolts are different.
Keeping the red theme. How about a pre-Tacoma, I believe it has matured nicely.

SAS, ARB locked front and rear, 5.29’s, high pinion front diff, 35” km3’s, rock sliders.

My 97 started its life as a 5lug 2wd. couldent find a picture but it was just like this.
    5aff4781-8563-4572-bbe9-8953ef2b7e64.large.jpg
Then it got dropped 3 inches for about 3 months. That got old quick. so i lifted it 6 inches with a Downy Off-road Mid travel kit. on 31s with 4x4 fenders.
    truck1.jpg
Added some fiberglass and American Racing rims and new BFG's
    2019-07-23.jpg
But..... 2wd trucks are not fun in the snow. So time for a 4wd conversion
