Best mud flaps?

seems like the top two mudflaps people choose from are either Plasticolor or RokBlokz,

up to this point in time, what is considered the best and most popular?
RokBlokz are about $130, while Plasticolor (11x19) is about $75

(assuming it's the Short version, "regular" tire size Rokblokz,
though I hear they can still fit slightly bigger tires)

I know Rokblokz are supposed to be stiff on the highway yet flexible over rocks.
Am not sure how they compare, I imagine Rokblokz may be easier to mount,

people seem happy with each/both, depending on which they bought (Rokblokz or Plasticolor)

 

I have the Rokblocks and like them. I bought both front and back but lost a fastener in the front and took them off. Rears are going strong. Plus the curb appeal is way better than stock!! Makes the truck look like its wider in the rear!

was wondering plasticolor vs rokbokz to save money

probably not going to go stock, they're long and kind of ugly
to the point where one already somehow fell off, hence desire for replacement
not sure if it was knocked off at some point, or fell off on it's own from getting dry/brittle and breaking off over time

might try the plasticolors just to experiment and see how it goes

edit: seems like one desired quality/criteria for flaps is if it can flex on rocks but stay rigid on road, which Rokblokz (and customer reviews) say they do.
Am not sure if the Plasticolors are able to do that

I have the Husky flaps on my fronts after ripping the stock flaps off on the trail. Still have decent coverage, and are about 3-4" shorter than the OEM flaps.

 

Same here. They have a nice slight curve/contour to them.

 

Arent priced too bad either, OP. I got mine on Amazon for like $45 shipped.

well some claim to offer both rigid and flexible, depending on if a rock pushes on it or not
but I don't do heavy wheeling (plus stock suspension) so maybe some rigid ones would work for now, to replace the broken OEM flap

Which ones? Plasticolors seem $33-37 per set of 2, so about $70 total
but on Amazon when searching 2008 Tacoma mud flaps, some results of lesser known brands pop up as $45.
Although they're less known, they still appear to have good reviews, and hopefully Amazon stands behind such products.

even cheaper, eBay lists a complete set (front and rear) for $20

Best mud flap is no mud flap. They will tear your finder up if one gets pulled off while backing up. Been there done that.

 

thought about trying this but was scared to kick up debris such as rocks and mess up the paint
or at least temporarily just to get a good car wash in that area

I believe 3rd gens can come with no mud flap but that owners want them
Looks cooler to have no flaps but am not sure if it messes up the paint more

 

O yea your going to get a few little chips. Mine does but to me it looks so much better without them. That's what touch up paint is for.

 

Didnt realize you were doing all 4. Figured you were just trying to get rid of the long ass front flaps.
