I'm commission paid and income varies drastically so when I bought my '16 in Feb '16, I had to plan ahead. I had a decent down payment and 3 yrs worth of payments set aside in savings account "C" and my 75 month loan was set to automatically pay from that account. In good months, I put a payment or two or three into that savings account. In slim months, I didn't worry about funding the payment account since I had a cushion built up. My business picked up the second half of last year so I added enough to the savings account to pay it off, so I did Dec '18.

You know, some of the most important skills a person SHOULD have coming out of school interestingly enough are not taught these days in the public education system. I feel really bad for the kids graduating out of school these days because they are not being taught important life skills which will actually matter.

Not even I who graduated high school nearly 12 years ago was taught basic economics which could had saved me a lot of heartache in the process, but lucky for me I learned as time progressed both through other people, life mistakes, and some military education. I have at this point walked out with a bloody nose as far as finances go, but I never got stuck in something which I was not capable of recovering out of.

Yup. I never knew that would happen when my 2nd gen got paid off. You’d think your credit score would go up instead of down.

 

Well I ordered my truck in October of 2015 and finally got my truck in March of 16, and the salesman even got fired that I originally was dealing with. But I was fortunate enough to be able to pay cash upfront for my truck so I've never had a payment, thanks to the great state of California. Lol. But I had to over pay for it. I even got turned down by 3 dealerships even though I was paying cash.

 

That's what I did in High School. My debt to income ratio is awesome.
