What were your experiences like?? Did yours hurt like mine do now?

Had them taken out this summer.

Only had the bottom 2. It took me about a week to fully recover. I couldn't open my mouth to eat a sandwhich for about 5 days. I only took a couple of the perscribed medication, then went to Tyenol. The Oxycodenine made me drowsy. It's really not bad though, eat lots of ice cream!

Edit: Sorry, didn't fully read your post. I was on laughing gas, then they ran an IV through me.

I had all 4 taken out and I was put out. It was terrible for a few days after because your mouth is bleeding constantly and I didn't use any of the perciset they gave me (still have it :rasta::spy:). Mine were all taken out in pieces though, pretty much chiseled out lol. Since your 26 yours will probably not be as bad.

i had 5...one above one of my top molars..like in my temple. anyway i was put to sleep, it took him a whole 10min and he did a great job. i fucked up big though and got 2 dry sockets. i chose to ate doritos too soon and took out the scaps (didn't have stitches), most painful thing in the entire world...he had to use tweezers to get shit out of the holes and it was basically like metal digging around in my jaw bone.

Did bottom two when I was 18 - they were coming in crooked. They numbed me up, pried a couple of times and they were both out. Didn't get any pain meds and yeah it was uncomfortable, but not too bad. Couple years later, top ones came out the same way. No gas, just novacane.

I had all 4 taken out without being put to sleep in about an hour at 1 on a thursday. Saturday night I was eating at Wendy's and I was good to go with about everything by Tuesday. The holes where the bottom teeth are will be there for a while I hear.

Get put out man. When i came to it felt like my head got ran over by a steamroller. I hate to think what it would have been like if i where awake. I got all 4 removed at the same time, they where all impacted(sideways). It sucked but after i healed i was glad my headaches and pressure pains where gone.

    .

I only had 3 and all 3 were impacted and had to be "chizzzzzeled out" too. They took mine in the military and it was uncomfortable for a few days.

My buddy had all of his out at the same time, then he "sucked" on a straw a couple days later, broke the clots lose and the bleeding started all over again. Stay away from straws and don't gargle for a while.

i had mine taken out when i was 17. i was put to sleep but i woke in the middle of the procedure for some reason. i could feel the chiseling away at the teeth but it didn't hurt at all. anyway after the surgery i had absolutely zero pain. the worst part for me was the taste of the gauss you keep in your mouth to soak up the blood afterwards. i was lucky to not have any pain from some stories i've heard. goodl luck!

I was awake for a removal last year (upper right side wisdom). Seems worse than it is. I need to get at least one more done sometime; I'd stay awake again.

I had my 2 bottom ones removed in the Indian Ocean. No local numbing or any other kind of pain reliver.
I was onboard a US Navy Fast Frigate, laying back in the barber chair (no dental facilties on that vessel). One of my buds held me down as the dentist (Dr Mengele as I now refer to him) took what looked like a 6 inch metal ruler and with what I am certain was a miniature ball peen hammer, forced the ruler between the wisdom tooth and the molar then said ready one, two, three. Then the SOB twisted the "ruler". I heard a grinding noise and felt a most excruciating pain, and then it was over, no pain, just my heart beating at a f'n zillion times a minute and so much adrenaline surging through me that I was shaking....

Dr. Mengele, looks at me and asks ready for the other one? I asked for a few minutes to relax and then had the other one done.

I had tried to get them done prior to deploment, but for a various reasons was not able (rapid deployment forces some things to not always get done) I did have the top ones removed 3 months prior (I was under lots of local numbing for those) but they would not do all 4 at the same time. So ther I was about 30 days prior to passing through the Straits of Hormuz having to be held down in a barber chair with some sick, twisted, sadist hovering over me getting them done or I was not going to be dropped off with my team.

It could have been worse I guess, the guy after me was supposedly getting a molar pulled.

Awake for both shows. Did both left side then coupla months later did both the right side. One of those had to be cut extra and yanked on a ton before it let go. Sucks to go back the 2nd time when you know what's comin, lol.

I had the right side upper and lower taken out when I was in the service 35 years ago. They both slipped right out under a local, no problems at all. Didn't even get any drugs. My current dentist asked me "I wonder why they took your wisdom teeth out"?

just make sure you don't take ibuprofen, it thins your blood and makes the bleeding worse. Stick with tylenol.
