I think I've seen somewhere that the DJM lowering kits for the 2nd Gen also fits the 3rd Gens. Might be worth to look at. I wouldn't go with a no brand e-bay parts.

Can anyone else chime in on this? Does the 2nd gen lowering kits fit on the 3rd gens? Im sure with some modifications here and there they will but i want for a smooth install. I was planning on getting it professionally installed anyway, i don't have to luxury of having space nor the tools to work on my truck (well maybe the tools), but i live in an apartment so I have a parking stall that can barely fit my little Tacoma.

I think in a couple years or so we'll start seeing more dropped 3rd gens on the streets. Most people aren't even done paying their truck off yet. Where i come from (town), it's all about the lowered life so I wanted to kinda turn heads and drop my truck plus it's only a 4 cyl. so it meets my definition of a mini truck lol.

i can appreciate a nice rig in general but tbh i prefer the dropped scene to the lifted one. my last two trucks (15 f350 superduty 9" icon, 13 trd or 9" icon) and my last two 4runners (13 4runner 3" icon, 08 4runner 3" icon) were all lifted. in the end i kinda just realized that i gravitate more with the dropped culture more. even my truck now, even though its 4wd i dont have any desire to lift. im gonna go with a sport truck dynamic for this build.

Yes it would, I think all of us from Hawaii loved that truck when it came out cause it had what we all wanted, a sporty lower stanced Tacoma with a 6 speed transmission and a sexy body. They should bring the x runner back with a V6 TRD supercharged engine, an aero kit all around, a FUNCTIONAL hood scoop & have some fancy Japanese brand design the wheels like Rays Engineering or some shit.

For now I want to make my SR sporty so it needs to get low. I figure I would just try buy the 3" front lowering struts from eBay and get some 3"-4" drop blocks for the rear.

Yeah i messaged the seller. He said this kit will fit my 2017 SR. I just don't want to buy it and find out that certain bolts don't match up or something isn't sitting properly. I heard from other people that the 2nd gen lowering kits would fit the 3rd gens. Maybe I will be the guinea pig :boink:

How would you lower the rear? They already have almost no up travel.
