Thanks! The position may move to Bellevue in the future I guess.

All great info everyone and will help me decide if it's worth it. It's odd looking at places with inflated home prices because people actually want to live there, not inflated do to crazy taxes like here!

Yeah that's why I left Newcastle lol. I was looking at a smaller fixer upper house in that price range...OR a house with a 3 car garage, very nice backyard and a 5 minute walk from the lake in MV. Granted, if I ever work in Bellevue I'll have a long ass commute.

Our property and sales taxes are pretty high, but at least there's no income tax. IMO, unless you really like the city, east side is a nice area to be, although it can be pretty snobby with all the new money floating around (aka smellvue).

I loved the Seattle area up until the 2010s or so when it all changed. Haven't lived there since.

I'm loving small town feel of North Bend and commute to Factoria. About a 30 min drive. Except going up the hill several times a week and getting around 11mpg is not so fun.

So...is there a thread for Portland Area meet ups? Hard to believe there are so many Portland area Taco owners and nothing going on!

What do you mean by "meet up" , like go to the brewery, happy hour, or like camping?
Come meet up, we're going to the Lucky Lab on Quimby!

    Ha. That’s 5 minutes away!!
Wife and I are going to Henry’s or Portland City grill tonight. They filed BK and we have gift cards. Good excuse to go use them even though they probably will still be valid for years.

I was more wondering about group drives and such. But down for getting to know other Tacoma enthusiasts as well.

We actually looked at Northbend and Snoqualmie but felt it was a little too far out for us and it can get pretty windy and would need a full house generator. It's getting pretty pricey and busy there now too.

The potholes on Suiattle River road are something fierce and made me recognize I need some new bumpstops. Is there a consensus fav in the pnw?

Meh, you really start to appreciate warm showers once you’ve taken cold ones for a week straight.
