A 24 hour day felt like a 48 hour day. Like when you where a kid. Now it seems as if the day goes by in about 10 hours.

My old dumbass boss called me one day after I retired and asked me "how old are we?" we were the same age.

I remember seeing Mickey Mantle play. Double header, they didn’t clear out the park. The day cost about 33- 35 cents. You brown bagged lunch.

I remember riding in the backseat of my parent's car, windows up, both of them smoking, seatbelts were not even a thought.

I was very young, hadn't started kindergarten.

    It was Spring I think.

My mom, who never had a drivers license, took me on the city bus for the first time.

The seats ran the length of the bus in two long rows.

A young woman got on and sat directly across from us, Sandy blond hair, dressed very simply, neat and clean.

I think I was staring at her because she looked really interesting to me.

She looked at me and then she smiled.

A feeling came over me like a shockwave- I wasn't sure what it was, but I knew I wanted it.

I think of that woman from time to time, pretty sure she cemented my soul firmly in the heterosexual camp.

    Thank you pretty woman...

    Did you know....

Iron Eyes Cody was actually born Espera de Corti — an Italian-American who played Indians in both his life and on screen.

I did. It's actually one of the reasons I posted it, to see if anyone would mention that.
