I think so too. The truck at it's heaviest is a bit over 4k

 

A little but peace of mind is worth the work and $$

 

I mean it's better to have more than needed but hell a Tacoma isn't a 1 ton

 

Be one hell of a spool of line.

 

The higher the rating, the less stress for the winch's duty limits meaning lighter weights winch faster and build less heat in the winch. Heat is really what kills winches.

 

The higher end winches ratings are more accurate and based on a 100% duty cycle meaning no break for the winch while pulling. Others are based on lower rate duty cycles, so shorter run times and longer cool-downs between pulls.

 

My smittybuilt winch is the 10,500lbs one. it was relatively cheap on Amazon when I got it since it was on sale and I have yet to use it. just happy its there in case I do need it.

Hilarious - this group all has terrible short term memories. I talked with him about PINS at Corpus and kids in college and retirement for about a half hour. But EVERYONE inspected this truck!

Just seen this formula before, literally to the T. Same price, same kinda pics, same lowish miles (always beteen 80 and 120), same "rebuild engine few miles ago" and same price. Literally always $1500.
