Monitarily, as far as the head gasket issue I can't afford the fight anymore. Everything is being sent to the Inspector General of Louisiana's office.

Not too sure what to make of the response from those 2 people. But, my take on it would not be allowed to be presented here. I may be wrong, if so, I apologise in advance. But I basically spent my life savings on attorneys over this, I can not do anymore. I just can't. There is proof. Toyota has done wrong, I just can no longer afford it. Everything is going to the Louisiana Inspector Generals office. Take it from there.

What’s stopping you from posting the info? Is there some type of gag order in place that prevents you from explaining the details?

2nd gen manufactured November 2005 and previous had faulty head gaskets. I filed a lawsuit. I can't afford it anymore.

    So, no gag order?

Well then...don’t hold back. Give the full details of your experience. Dates, times, etc.

Toyota had poor quality on early 4.0L and caused head gasket to fail. Toyota repaired head gasket under warranty/recall. 13+ years later, engine is bad. OP want toyota to give new engine or buy truck back and pay for alterations made to said truck.
    About right?

This is why we are asking for details and not making assumptions.

If the OP has an active lawsuit and has filed the complaint with the state IG, I would advise he not spell out the situation on an open(ish) forum. Therefore, speculation without OP verification is the best route. Based on comment about previous repair, and current status, my conclusions are as such.

What was it that my uncles lawyer said? Oh yeah, "If you arent talking to, or in the presence of me, keep your trap shut".

Then again, my uncle was a moron who took pictures of illegal activities on a boat with a waterproof floating camera.

Your AG will not spend state funds on this. And, I dont know what your life savings is but there is a point in litigation where you'll spend more than it is worth. Your best bet is to make the case and ask for assistance w parts and or repairs. It sounds like u got bad legal advise.

Best of luck to you and I'm sorry u are in this spot.

Sorry for your loss and expenditures of funds. That has to suck hard.

Not sure of the point of starting this thread if you can’t divulge pertinent info...but good luck to you anyway.

First off, thanks for your efforts to bring this situation to an equitable end. No one citizen should take a thing like this on by themselves.

Second, I think you made the right decision to stop spending your own money.

Third, this thread is cryptic and dramatic. If you want to serve the community, you should consider titling it appropriately and, as @4x4Runner has encouraged, you should describe your own experiences. You might want to search TW for others who started threads on the head gasket issue and compile them here in the first post.

Edit: Give these folks a call (though I think the bell has tolled):

You're attempting to sue Toyota over something that is probably closer to a class action suit? Yea...you need much, much, much money to get that off the ground, and even then...good luck. No offense and I wish you the best of luck, but trying to sue a major corporation will bankrupt most people pretty quickly unless there's something as severe as a clear cut case of wrongful death, where they will try to settle immediately. Sorry for your misfortune and I truly wish you the best of luck in your situation.

I feel the pain here. I'd like to hear how this has gone for sure. I don't know that any manufacturer is any better, but Toyota's handling of the head gaskets, motor mounts, leaf springs, frame rust, manual transmission issues, clutch issues, etc. has really damaged my faith in the brand. Many issues could have been corrected years sooner, and the known problems should have been given extended warranties. There is no way I would ever buy a new Tacoma (or any new car really). I'm slowly compiling a parts inventory to keep my old 2007 running. At least I know what I have. I've fixed all the bullshit that Toyota wouldn't. It's a usable truck now. If not for communities like TW, we would all be in the dark about so many things.
