No. That way a friend back in TX who I helped install his TRD suspension prior to moving. He sent me those after tire install. Said he needed to trim 1/4" from the bumper.

    Here is my old one:

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
    Thanks man.
Also, do know that your drawer setup is getting used regularly.

When I was a kid my uncle had one badass conversion. That mug had driftwood for acents. Was super pimp beach style.

    Sweet! Good to know.

We got so many compliments on that thing whenever someone would see it in use. My wife and I have been talking about building another one in the very near future. Gotta get some truck mod money somehow....

Alright, so another topic of discussion: Garage Floor Coatings.

    What's the best and why?

Obviously "best" is subjective and going to differ by which characteristics each person prefers.

Why I'm asking: I spill oil. Lots of it. Doesn't seem to matter if I'm changing gear oil in the differential or draining the engine oil. Somehow, no matter what I do to avoid it, I spill it. This leaves my garage looking like crap. Since it's a new house (roughly 6 months old), I'd like to keep it looking nice.

I had the Rustoleum EpoxyShield at our house in Texas but only had it down for about 1 year before we moved. I loved it except for how reflective it was. It could be a relatively cloudy day, but it was like I was staring into the sun if I was under the truck and looked toward the door. I recently realized that I used the "high gloss" version. They make a "gloss" one that I am considering.

    https://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Ol...5429-_-BRT_Product_Hero_CTA_1&et_rid=51019422

I'm thinking it might not be as bright. I don't see a matte option.

They also have the RockSolid option at about 2x the cost. I believe it is a Polycuramine (didn't look it up, so guessing on spelling) I'm not sure that is worth it.

I know that Epoxy is said to only be good for 5-10 years before it starts to flake up and/or wear thin. Am I better off just getting some grey garage floor paint? That might be cheaper initially and easier to touch up in years to come. If it keeps the oil from seeping into the concrete, then I will be happy.

The other challenge that I have is storage of everything that is in the garage. I'm not about to bring all the cabinets, paint, gas cans, mower, edger, etc. into the house while it dries and cures. So I figure I'm going to have to do half of the garage and then move everything over to the other side to complete the other half.

I'd like to hear from anyone with an opinion on the matter and not just 1 or 2 really opinionated people (though I haven't met that person in the GA threads....kind of a nice change from TX).

I, too, have been considering epoxy. The products on the market today are much better than those of 10 years ago. I still haven't picked one to use, yet... :(

As for the idea of doing 1/2 of the garage at a time, I don't think you can do that without making a seam. You could paint an epoxy "stripe" over the seam to hide it - this is my current thinking.

Cleaning and etching the floor is the fun part. :(

This is super cheap method but I have a huge cardboard box from a freezer or something like that, that I slip under or drive my car over every time I'm under it doing work. Anything spills, I just wipe up with a rag and the cardboard absorbs the rest, dries out and it good for the next use. Results show nothing ever making it to my floor and I've been using the same piece (doubled over thick cardboard) for the last 5 years. When I'm done, it folds in half and I slide it behind my big tool box against the wall and out of the way.

I was pleased with the Epoxy that I used before except for the glare. A lower gloss might fix that issue though.

My garage floor has the expansion grooves and is separated into 4 sections. The RockSolid directions say not to use if your garage floor is like mine. I think they just don't want it to fill the expansion slots. I figured this could be mitigated by using some painters tape and pressing it down into the seem for whatever I decide to put down.

I like that idea as well, but getting that gigantic box and storage would be my two issues.

While we do not have the Alu-Cab Canopy Camper on hand, it does look like the drawers would be obstructed on the sides of the rear wall. There are many great options that do work with the DECKED system such as the GFC camper and the AT Overland, just to name a few.

Can you do each section one at a time? Since you really can't epoxy an expansion joint, use those for your seams.

I could, but figured I would do 2 at a time. I was thinking I would do the left side first since most of the stuff is on the right side. Let it cure for a few days before moving over and doing the other side. Let it cure for a couple of days and put everything back where it goes.

It'll double the time it takes to complete, but will allow completion without having to store everything that is in the garage.
