I'm looking for info on putting the 5100s on the top setting. Any experiences and pictures would be great. I've searched and can't find many pictures where the top setting is used.

This will be going on my 2017 dcsb 4x4 V6, with 275 70 17s and Sema wheels.

Not gunna find any pics most likely because that top notch sucks ass ride quality wise. I was on the 4th notch before swapping suspension setups and the 4th notch already was bumpy as hell. Wouldn't suggest going to that one.

So what is the best option for the 5100s? 887s? I'm completely open to using those but I've read they are sagging alot.

888’s are slightly longer than 887’s. I had about 3/4” settling with my 888’s but I also have aftermarket skids. I probably should’ve went with a slightly stiffer spring like 886’s, Eibachs, or Dobinsons.

However, my 5100/888’s ride really nice!

So assuming I'm not going to get a larger bumber or anything heavy on the front other than maybe a trd pro skid the 887s would be perfect for me with 5100s if I were wanting 2-2.25?

OME coils will sag. Stay away from them.

Doesn't sound like there's a good option to lift the front of a Tacoma 2" for under $1000 then??

Yes for a 2-2.25” lift that would be perfect.

You can absolutely do the lift for under $1k. All you NEED is 5100’s, 887’s, and 1” blocks for the rear. Really basic but good. I would consider an AAL vs the blocks, and consider UCA’s to be safe.

How's the sagging issue with the 887s? I'd rather deal with a little firmer ride than deal with the 887s sagging.

I spoke with David at toytec and he recommended just going with the 5100s at the top clip.

You don't need UCAs for that size lift and a block in the rear is fine for a 1" lift. Doesn't change the ride quality and cheaper/easier to install than an AAL.
