285/75R17 Perfect Size on 3rd Gen

I'm pretty sure the Total Chaos will allow for maximum caster as well, I've also been told to look into Icon Delta joint uca, so gonna check those out too.

 

Almost went 285/75/17..
Ended up going with 295/70/17.

No ragrets.

 

I’m no expert by any means. But i did stay at a holiday inn express last night soo here’s my 2¢..

The main problem you will run into with maximizing you LCA eccentrics ‘mo caster’ is that you inevitably run out of camber. Total Chaos does offer an adjustable heim joint UCA that can compensate for this but it’s pricy $$
And i do believe that Icon also has an adjustable heim joint billet UCA with the delta joint for a small fortune as well. If you need all the caster available in your LCAs and a wee bit more I’d look into SPC uppers. They can give you all the clearance plus keep your camber in spec so your not riding on the edges of your new tires..

Having my Cab mount relocation done tomorrow, 285/75/17 KO2, and RRW wheels on order, now the waiting game!

So looks like I’ll need an alignment adjustment on the caster before I get the new tires?

 

Can always wait and see if you need to play with the caster more. I’m bringing mine back into to a different shop and see if they can push my wheels a tad bit forward and finally not rub my cab mount.

On another note, fully stuffed and no rubbing up front. Rears rub at the edge of the fender, so far not enough to need to trim.

Any chance you have pics after trimming? Im scheduled for a cmc still debating if i should pull the trigger for 34s

 

I will see if i can get a couple pics and post it to you. 34" tires are great but there are other issues like gearing , there is a very noticeable difference in driving going up from a 32.8" tire. Gears will be needed and i would recommend 5.29's for 34" and for 32.8" you are ok with the 4.88's.

 

The CMC, Pinch weld hammered and some minor fender trim.

 

Are these the 0 offset? Also do you have any more pics?

 

hey thanks for the info. I'm all for having to do a chop, but yeah as little as possible would be the way to go. so I think I'm gonna go with some mickey thompsons classics 17"x9" with a b/s at 4.5 and an -12 offset. now would the wheel width be to wide for that tire be cutting it close, or should I go with a different wheel or tire?

 

Not gonna lie this thread has awakened something in me.

 

I would cut as much as you can so you don't have to do it again. I have a pretty aggressive cmc,with pinch welds cut, and all the necessary trimming.... I'm still hitting cab mount

 

what size tires are you running? I actually wouldn't mind an aggressive cmc I recently tore off part of my side bumper right where it meets the flares and a few pieces of hardware some sort of bracket, I cant find anywhere that tells me what bracket, so fixed something up that works just fine. so once I get my lift and all that jazz next will be some sort of steel bumper that fits right under the head lights. so I plan on some aggressive cmc I'm actually hoping for it.

 

Me too.. and mines as far back as they can cut but damn -38 offset wheels kicking my ass. Still love the look and how they’ve been performing. Still need to do some plastic trimming on the driver back corner.

 

Sorry for the delay.. that sounds like a good size wheel.. goood luck and get the guy to cut as much as possible off your cab mount.. don’t want to have to do it again.. just remember alignment is vitally important on how much other stuff you’ll have to cut

 

Finally got my 285/75/17 KO2 mounted on 17x9 0 offset. Just need to do a little trimming on the fender and finish hammering the pinch welds.
