    Have you had any issues with your hinges yet? A few of us GFC owners have been looking for alternatives and the hinge you have linked looks very similar to ours. A few of ours have cracked, while others aren't satisfied with leaking during the rain.

    Yes, there is enough room to leave all the padding up top. I am currently running 4” of mattress. Definitely not enough for a sleeping bag.

    Awesome +1 for a separate thread.

    That’s interesting. I am not sure what type hinge GFC uses, I never inquired about that with them.

    Personally, I haven’t had any issues. I’ve been using the hinge almost daily on the rear door loading and unloading bikes for about two months now. The hinge I used is supposed to be a “million actuations” hinge. So I am hoping it lasts a while. I wonder if it is a UV problem or maybe a heat issue, which is causing the cracking?

    Either way, I would reach out to GFC. Those guys are pretty on top of their game with warranty stuff to my understanding.

    Thanks for the help. I'll try to dig up what hinge the GFC uses to compare.
