Saw your truck on Craigslist and my first thought was "wonder what his screen name on TW is".
    Nice truck!
Any interest in an 2010 X-Runner as a partial trade? 10X,XXX miles, mechanically stock except for a big brake kit and TRD short throw shifter.

    Thanks.

I really like it but getting tired of that manual transmission + California traffic thing.
After 20+ years of manual transmission daily drivers, I am looking for something with an auto and getting back into a 4x4 as a daily.
How are your truck's freeway manners? Is it something that can be driven every day or has it been modded to where it is better suited as a weekend driver?
Keep in mind I already own a lifted 4x4, not coming from a Camry and expecting car like ride quality.

Also: You said the truck was purchased in NC and looks to be currently registered in TX. Any modifications to the truck that would make it unable to be smogged here in CA?

@Richie Rich, I can definitely understand that.

This truck has been my daily for a long time. The truck rides very well on the freeway. I honestly think it’s smoother the faster you go. The ICONs are super smooth and the armor gives it enough weight to make it floaty. You get the hum of the tires of course, but no shaking or vibrations. The wind noise from the Prinsu, light bar, or snorkel isn’t noticeable to me.

The ride is definitely better than stock.

I didn’t get aftermarket exhaust because I didn’t want the noise while cruising, however the TRD Intake gives it a nice growl when you step on it but it’s quiet when cruising.

Additionally, the Wet Okole seat covers have some padding to them, so the seats are much more comfortable than the stock TRD seats (which went maybe a week before i put covers on them, so they’re basically brand new underneath the covers).

I bought my wife a new Tahoe and have taken to driving her Camry (also a 2011) as my daily now, just to save gas money, and I find that the Tacoma is MUCH more comfortable than the Camry on long rides surprisingly.

I haven’t made any mods that would affect smog test, only the TRD intake and Snork, nothing else to the engine.

How bad is it on gas?
My Xrunner gets ~16mpg, lucky if I get 12 out of this pig. Not sure how it manages to be slow and get horrible gas milage at the same time.

That is livable for what it is. If I drive the X angry it dips down into the low 15s so...
Clean title with no lienholder on it?
Lemme do some looking into what my options are for freeing up some cash or financing and I might be down to come up this weekend and take a look if you are available.

Only downside to this truck I can see is there doesn't seem to be much I can do to tinker with it.
Be weird for me to be the "bought not built" guy for once.

@Richie Rich, sounds good man. I’ll be around, there are some other folks coming to take a look this weekend too.

Title is clean, been paid off for a while.

Well, if I was going to keep it, I was planning to regear it, take 2” off the fenders and put 35s on it. You could start there.

Bought not built is where I’m trying to go. I don’t have time anymore with the new job and kids.

Nice! Just an aside, I'm putting a swing arm on the back end for my spare on a 2015 and I'm wondering where to relocate the backup camera lens. Where did you mount it?
    Great set up.
    Thanks

Thanks man. I mounted it just below the tire, next to the vertical brace for the tire mount.

What kind of vehicle are you looking to trade for? I’m trying to get back into a Tacoma. Currently have a 2014 STi with 59k miles.

I’m more interested in selling it. Not terribly interested in an STi, sorry. If I traded it, it would be for more of a family vehicle or a classic car.
