    It's complicated.
I didn't "make it sound" like anything--and my "claim" came from my exact numbers, with photo proof. I don't live in CA, and don't care what you do there.

Plus, if you think there's a $9k difference between $42,378 and $36,823 you need to go slap the shit out of whichever "parent" taught you how to do simple math. $36,823 is what I paid. Period. Once my paperwork makes it to OR dmv, it's going to be ~$225 in registration.

This thread is supposed to be about helping people to get their best deal--by posting real numbers, and offering advice & education on how to find those good deals that really do exist. It's not about being dickwads & crapping on people because YOU got a shitty deal, or you're jealous of someone else's great deal. Now go piss off!

To everyone else: I hope that the sharing of my recent buying experience, and seeing my real numbers have helped you find that great deal--because this thread, and most of the commenters, have helped me tremendously!

    Thank you!

Good luck on a tech and premium package, thats WAY below invoice and that particular build is desireable. I've bought 3, 2 with tech/prem and a tech/prem/JBL back in 17, never got below $36k even with military rebate and month plus of back and forth on the 17 all purchased in AZ. If you can get $36k before TTL I'd take it.

I'm guessing not a premium packaged truck at $39k unless it's MT. You could do a bit better. I paid $33k for my OR DCSB AT 4WD non tech or premium last month.

Sad to say that your timing is bad; you're shopping in the middle of the first month, at the start of the new quarter.

If you can hold off on buying, until this time in September, your chances of getting that truly great deal will dramatically increase.

September 30 is the BEST time of year to buy; dealerships have to move their remaining inventory, to get the new cars--and the higher incentive bonuses.

Longo Toyota fleet department on the last day of any month can do miracles if they need to hit their quota.

Is $33,454 a good price for this ACOR with a MSRP of $36,823?

Dollar for dollar? I don't think so. But without knowing your specific, no-compromise vehicle configuration, it's hard to answer that question.

    Look at this:
    https://www.mountainstatestoyota.co...a-Tacoma-0aac252b0a0e0ae94ed8936c1509175b.htm

For me, I had decided that was I going to buy a very specific vehicle configuration, or not buy at all. I wanted a 2019 Tacoma TRD Off-Road 4x4, double cab, 6 foot bed, with Premium Off-Road AND Tech packages, rubber floor mats & sill protectors. Nothing more, nothing less. (Oh, and color was irrelevant.) Once I determined the configuration, shopping was easy.

So, what is your "I'm going to buy vehicle X, with options Y & Z, and nothing else?"

Very true lots of variables are involved. Like is there a trade-in, interest rate, extended warranty, mop-n-glo or maybe the year end factory kickbacks to the dealer.

The best quotes I got were $3800 off and $4400. The higher discount was a truck that had more options. On your truck $3500 to $4k is what I’d shoot for:)

I looked in Springs and Pueblo, both had the truck I have today. Pueblo had 1k cheaper than the Springs. It’s a DC OR MAN, with both packages, I was 36 and change out the door paying low taxes in Park County.

usually you can get between 9%-12% off final sticker price when you haggle.

9% is the bare minimum, 10% is the norm and 12% is rare.

this rule usually applies across all models of toyota not in GST/SET regions.

I'm going up and signing a deal today after having haggled and negotiated over the past 2 weeks. I was in the same boat as the gentleman above in that I wanted something very specific: Tacoma TRD Offroad 4x4 DCSB with the tech and premium packages in Cavalry Blue. Zero compromise on that, and I'm signing a deal on one listing out at $42,xxx for $36,430 before taxes. I think I'm happy with this, despite having to pay ridiculous taxes in AZ that's going to put me right at $40k when all is said and done.

Richard, I called Mountain States Toyota. William was super helpful but we couldn't get it to a point that would be cheaper than my buying it in town here when you add in the flight out there plus gas back and of course the time element. On top of that dealing with taxes and registration on my own would take some time and I'd imagine frustration as well. In town definitely makes a bit more sense just because I'm getting a better deal somehow. Thanks for his recommendation though and I'd still give him a call anytime I'm buying another car. It just didn't work out on this one.

    That's an excellent deal! Congratulations!

Yes, William is great, but if the deal isn't there, it isn't there. No worries. And trust me, I'd rather pay a one-time sales tax, over a 9.9% state income tax!

I was very happy with the dealership itself, as well. The day I bought my truck, I was there for ~4 hours--it was the last day of the month/quarter, and everybody and their brother was there! Being there that long gave me a chance to listen to the interactions of the other dealers & their customers; no hard selling, no condescending talk, no typical car sales B.S.! Were they trying to up-sell? Oh yes. But once the customer said no, that was it.

    Enjoy your new truck!

Glad to hear your impressions! That sounds like about the same positive experience I'm currently receiving from Findlay Toyota in Prescott, AZ. Reviews online are nothing but positive, so I went into my communication with them pretty optimistically. As it turns out, they're extremely great to deal with. Because the tax in Prescott is more than it is down here in the valley (Phoenix area), they drop their sale prices more than most dealerships in my area to make an even comparison between cost. They don't even have the truck on their lot that I want, so they're getting it from a dealer on a flatbed that's located a few hours away and still price matching the best OTD price (after TTL) I got down here in the valley. On top of all that, he's making the 2hr drive tomorrow to pick me up down here and bring me back to the dealership to get the deal done after I get out of the office (since I'm having some issues getting up there this afternoon).

If anyone is in the Southwest looking for a new Taco, I highly recommend Findlay Toyota in Prescott.

Hey guys. I'm new here and looking for advice. I live in the Colorado Springs area and I'm looking to pick up a Tacoma soon. Should I hit up Mountain States Toyota up in Denver or one of the dealerships here in the Springs? Or maybe Pueblo?

Also, I'm looking for a ACLB config in the TRD Off-Road version. What's a good deal on that truck, with no premium or tech options?

Edit: Mountain states toyota only shows 1 available truck in that config but like 70 something in the dual cab version.. UGH!

    First bit of advice:

Maybe I should rephrase. Everyone seems to buy the DCSB version so obviously there are a lot of numbers for those trucks. Is the ACLB version the same price, more, or less? Just a ballpark figure would be nice. I've partly read through those links but I'm not interested in a dual cab short bed.

Check Your local dealers first. I was about to buy from there. Was offered a good discount from the get go.

I paid $38640 for mine yesterday otd. $39095 msrp I believe. Very happy with my deal since ca license and registration fees are close to $800 and then the 9.25 tax rate.
