Funny you should say that. I see them (more cube shaped) on the government surplus auction site. If I ever see the right sizes I plan on putting a bid in.

Well, the search for an SUV is over...I lost the battle and we committed to purchasing this today. It is a state holiday here today, so we wont get the financing worked out and pick it up until tomorrow afternoon.

My wife did tell me I could replace the Tacoma with a new T4R down the road if I so choose though, so it isn't a total loss I guess.

I just dont have a very good opinion of domestic brands because I drive them at work and constantly have problems....this was my work car just yesterday...

That thing looks sick! I agree but give it a shot. I’m sure your work car is worked harder than most.

Yeah, they are driven that's for sure...they may even fly low on occasion... :anonymous:

But it is always weird stuff that breaks, never your normal wear and tear items. I have had my work car in for the high pressure fuel pump, cam solenoids, and bad injectors in just the last year. Now who knows what is wrong. Although my mechanic said the low pressure pump usually goes after the high because they very starved for fuel and hot.

Drill some holes on the 45 degree angle on the back bottom side of the planos. No check valve needed. Two 1/4 inch holes will do it. I would not store anything heavy enough to distort the case either. Get some anti corrosion paper to put around anything metal. I have 2 planos and one pelican. I store all the heavy stuff in the pelican. I discovered the hole thing by accident. I drilled some holes in mine to run wires for solar and a air compressor and that box stays almost bone dry. My other sealed box always holds moisture but all I keep in it are tarps.

The thing that usually sneaks up on you with those bids is that you generally need to arrange pickup/transport. Most of the DRMO auctions I have seen you end up buying a PALLET of pelicans, not just ones and twos.

I already drilled a bunch of holes, because that's the only way I was draining the water out. I'm going to try what Tyler recommended, which was to run a thin bead of silicone all around the lid, right on the O ring. He said that solved his issue, so I'll give it a shot before I do anything wild.

An idea I'm rolling around in my head is redoing the rear seat platform to raise it up a few inches and better utilize the space underneath to house all the spare parts.

Thick bead. It needs to get around the edges of the rubber seal that is already there. Their seal design is garbage and this fixed it for me at least

I love when something so simple turns into bullshit hours later. I installed my hypertech, took all of 5 minutes.

Went for a drive, speedo and odo both showed 0.

Double check all my shit, and it’s good, so I call tech support. I’m gonna mail mine back in and they’ll send me a good one. Cool. Great.

While taking apart my dash, some of my wires came undone from the back of my switches, one of which my ABS kill switch. I hook it back up, apparently wrong, and my abs light won’t go off. Fuck with it for like 20 minutes and ultimately found I blew a fuse. Swapped a good one on, and everything is right as rain.

Get to put the dash back together, only to do it all again in a week.

I also managed to skin myself pretty good. Sweet. Awesome.

You have to enter the old wheel/tire/gearing information into the software. The "before" information can never read '0' or empty. Unless the fuse resolved it. I had the same issue and that's what fixed it for me.

I did, otherwise it has no way of knowing what corrections to make. Double checked firmware, and the calculations. The only thing that it could be was that I used inches instead of the metric option. That's worth a try at least before I go through the hassle of returning this.

Just checking. I guess I must have been young and dumb  I figured it out on my own at least when installing it. This was also 4-5 years ago.

I figured out the issue, but have no way to solve it. I'll program the info, it'll say successful, but once I back out and go back into the unit, it's all gone. Wonder why. Gonna mess with it a little more and see if I can get it to hold it.

edit: nevermind, not true. It does still hold the scaler value.
